Paok Scratchings

Wotcha.

I’m genuinely fighting the urge to declare this game a non event before a ball is kicked. The previous leg Top 10’d in the World’s Worst Games Of Football Ever™ with several fans who made the journey finding themselves nominated for Nobel Laureats.

We’ve been here before. I bemoan the team selection providing entertainment and value for money in the process alienating a good few readers and those who don’t give a monkey’s how I see it remind anyone who’s still bothering to read that it’s great to see the kids given a run out.

Word is that ticket sales have been suspended for security and safety reasons. This precaution might well be explained by a sizable number of Greek fans bellowing ‘Gowaaaanmysan!’ rather than any traffic backing up from Gatwick.

The game is on 2005hrs GMT on Channel 5 and if you’re watching anywhere else in the world… this arrangement will be unaffected.

  • kojac says:

why are they not selling tickets then, are they afraid the greek fans will stay and live in the corner of the lane

I’ll be watching in the USA surrounded by JR Ewing bobble heads and empty McDonald’s wrappers, or is it rappers?
    COYS! 3-1 to the willywhites!

    Team sheet will be interesting

    Pav out
    Gio poss out too

So who plays up top? Cant see Kane starting; Arry will want to win this one but with VDV carrying a hammy it might have to be Defoe

Personally I’d rather we start with Kane and have JD on the bench.

    Cuddles
    Charlie, Basser, Gallas, Fredericks
    Carroll, Sandro, Livers, Towsnend
G2s (if fit, Peanut if not)
    Kane

Subs; Gomes, Defoe, Baler, Walker, Lennon, The bull & Modric

If “Arry” wanted to win it, he would put out a team that was definitely capable from the off.

      • toddspur says:

dont agree; theres a difference. Arry wants to win BUT NOT at detriment to our PL push.

        • SpurredoninDublin says:

You either want to win, or you don’t.

I should have expected such a comment from someone who thinks HR is undoubtedly a great manager based on his last ten games.

You could always argue that this game IS detrimental to our PL season. If any of these players are injured, we might have probs covering injuries to PL squad players later on.

        • SpurredoninDublin says:

Just seen the team. Now I do believe he wants to win it.

    • LosLorenzo says:

VdV isn’t in our registered squad for the group stage, so his hammy is irrelevant tonight.

    • spurious supporter says:

Todd, are Rosey and Krankie still afflicted with the gout then, and isn’t Fredericks an RB? Can see Townsend as LB with Peanut in front again, which didn’t work very well last time. Livers might make a good cb alongside Billy G. If Rosey’s out, I’d try –
      Cuddly
      Charlie Billy Livers Basoon
      Fredericks Sandro Townsend
      Carroll
      Gio Kane

      • toddspur says:

yep those two still out. Your line up; like mine is dependant on Gio being fit. Not sure that is the case hence why Peanut plays just behind Kane

Fredericks is a RB but came on as sub and played LB in an earlier round. Dont think they have much pace along the flanks and is frees up Townsend to attack their full back

Sometimes I have no idea who you lot are talking about? Sorry to be dim…

May be I should communicate with you in morse code in future…

If the Greeks didn’t keep smashing their plates after every meal and washed them like normal folk they would not be in this financial mess. 2-1 to the mighty THFC.
