‘We’ll Agree An Amicable Farewell’

Good morning.

It’s Corluka talking to the Daily Mail.

Redknapp chose Walker and doesn’t see me in the defence, so it is logical to sit round the table and agree an amicable farewell. I will talk to people in the next few days.

‘I don’t have the will again to wait months for a chance, to fight for a position when I see that the coach has other ideas.’

Walker hasn’t been perfect, but he has been a step up on Corluka. Charlie started off brightly and you’ll recall that there was a decent mumble on City forums that he was decent chap and would be missed when he joined us.

His early showings were promising. There was a certain self assured manner about him. But that didn’t last long and chancers like me started comparing his athleticism with that of pantomime horse’s.

His undoing was his total predictability. Like Begbie before him he made the same runs up the wing and largely achieved nothing very memorable with them.

But I say this. If he’s on what, the wrong end of £30k a week and cannot be bothered to earn the right to play – then he might want to dwell upon the wisdom of announcing this to any prospective purchasers.

Stupid boy.

he’s a good full-back, i rate him. no not the most athletic but good at getting a foot in. walker’s pace gives him the edge. shame if he left but that’s football…

Charlie used to shut down any danger man for the other team, i remember Ashley Young at the peak of his form being totally taken out of the game by Charlie.

Unfortunately if he isn’t playing he’s going to want to go. Shame.

P.S Dont tell ’em ya name Pike!

Charlie had a brilliant game for Croatia, and scored a superb goal. I’d like to keep him; we need two players for every position to compete at the highest level.

Wanna know the reason that Defoe will wreck Spurs season, it’s all about him, not the team, him.

Do you think he has a shirt with “110” printed up?

His haul of 7 so far is a definite improvement on this time last year, but I think that has more to do with Adebayor, than Defoe. I am beginning to suspect that when ADE is unavaialble, Defoe will not look anywhere near as good as he thinks he is.

We’ve seen it before though. Remember the last season that PSB played with the Vulgarian? I don’t think he would have achieved half of what he did with Berbatov.

It’s a team game, Defoe has got goals but when he doesnt get goals he does nothing else for the team – unlike Ade – it could eventually really hack off Ade, and Defoe really seems to mock the concept of ‘assists’, judging by his comments.

    • MysteriousStranger says:

He’s never understood what assists were, so I think it’s less that he’s mocking them, but more of the same “me, me, me” that I’ve grown to dislike about him and his play over the years!

As far as he’s probably concerned – that was simply him scoring a solo goal – and is too dense to realise that Adebayor was probably making the comment about it being as a result of being played in by him, and that he should therefore pass the ball to a better positioned team mate (such as Adebayor himself) more often, instead of shooting when in a worse position than others around him.

      • SpurredoninDublin says:

Of course that is the difference. When Ade wasn’t scoring he was still being praised for the other things he did.

When Defoe isn’t scoring, there isn’t too much else to praise about his game.

If Defoe had put in the same level of performance Ade did on Saturday, there would be plenty slating him regardless. But it’s all nonsense, as Defoe is second to Rafa and Ade is still on loan, and personally I still have huge reservations about making it permanent given his history?
