Everybody Out!

Good afternoon.

You can’t order a cheese roll and when you get a sirloin by mistake moan you about the absence of a steak knife.

And if you hear a more convoluted analogy than that in your life, be sure to let me know. THFC went into that game tactically inept to play a decent side. THFC were quite vocal about the Mickey Mouse nature of the Europa. THFC chuckled quietly as they priced tickets for the Europa. THFC trod a fine line between fact and fiction prior to banking Invetec’s cheque.

So whining over this loss isn’t something you’re going to catch me doing. What we lacked was …our first team against a side that weren’t rubbish who ….decided to field theirs.

I routinely wish Levy & Co well but in this was a mistake and one that will hover around like the rectal gas of a pensioner living on diet of nothing but cabbage soup.

Great to see the kids get a run out. Yeah right. If that was the mission statement then how come we fielded a botch job of a team? You can’t have it both ways (that’s what she said).

You field are full squad or you field the kids. Unless you’re Manchester United. Or Arsenal when they are going through the gears which at this moment in time they are not.

Oh so I geddet, Aitch – you’re blaming Arry. The best man manager Mao Tse Tung! Well, he’s …the m a n a g e r  or did someone else pick the team?

So wot abaht our brave boys having to play twice a week? Talk to Jimmy Greaves, sweetheart. He treated himself to new knees in his 69th year from money he never earned from kicking a ball.

I’m sorry for saying, let’s keep Charlie; big mistake. Please feel free to pour opprobrium on me, from a great height.

No disrespect to you, but we so often mention a player that has given good service, and perhaps has seen his best days out playing for us. Not saying that this is you, but how fickle we can sometimes be.

Wouldn’t it be so much more decent of us to say, “you’ve done a great job, but you know we need too replace you”.

I think about 3MP sometimes. He was never going to wing my approval for style and grace, but he scored many important goals that got us into the CL. Last year,he looked pathetic, but then again, what did we expect from a player of his limited abilities being asked to lead the line in a 4-5-1. It worked for a while, but he was never that difficult to neutralise.

I do feel that where players have given decent service, perhaps it says more about our character that we talk about them as despicabley as we do once they let us down.

totally agree, theres lots of players over the years who put in good years of service and most made a good effort and left unappreciated. dare i say it even J***S,, yeah i did!

you werent to know that they had nailed down one of Charlies feet just before kick off,

Utter tosh HH, the right team was picked, the league is all that matters. That team was easily good enough to win, the defeat was entirely down to a disinterested Bassong. Had Kaboul played and been injured that could ruin our season. players played who needed games that’s all the competition is for. If UEFA want to make it worthwhile then it should have Champions League qualification for the winners with the runners up going into play-offs.

    • Harry Hotspur says:

The limitations of Bassong and FIFA were responsible for that game being neither fish nor foul then? Gertcha.

By your logic Bale, Modric & Azza ought not to have played. But then you know what you’re saying isn’t very logical and throw Kaboul’s name in as the key player to our season. Mmmn.

My point is that the kids should’ve played completely. The tickets reflected this and our sponsors billed accordingly.

What we got was as I say, neither fish nor foul and ultimately unsatisfying fare no-one’s in a hurry to revisit.

Arry began by saying the UEFA was two bob and is now quoted as saying staying in will be difficult. The twit has dug his own hole. If the kids had lost at least they would have done so trying and given all their fans that unerringly wonderful chance to play so many fans clearly far far stauncher than I are happy to pay £40 to watch.

The kids are all very worthy but not worth the money and as every man and his dog bangs on continually the game is all about money.

If you were Investec would you feel like you’d had value for money this season? I bloody wouldn’t.

And as a client reference number if the brand is going to be devalued then I’m only paying you a tenner to watch it and a score for the shirt.

Well said H.H. The major problem was this Gallas no game time Rose no game time Corluka no game time Bassong head on a transfer. This meant 2-0 you cant play a defence short on fitness against a team full of it.

  • melcyid says:

some players reckon themselves too much, moaning about playing then blowing there chances. Bassong ,cant wait around.Rose,I should be playing left back,I do well in training.Charlie ,Im not picked so amicably Im off in Jan. Defoe ,I need 2 more to equal Hoddles goal tally
Hoddle was a midfielder and Defoe will be chuffed by beating him. what about all the pens he missed then he would have been past that by now.
    Lawd elp us  :freu

Just 11 hours now until the Euro `12 Group draw, who will we get?

  • Ozspur says:

We have kept our word this year. We didn’t sell Modric and we prioritised qualifying for CL over the Europa League. Let’s stop complaining. We are in third place in the PL and we will need good form, a minimum of injuries and a bit of luck to maintain it till the end of the season. If we had qualified for the group stages of Europa, whether we played two more games or got all the way to the final, it would have put pressure on our premier league results. Qualifying for CL next year is vital in terms of money, keeping our top players and attracting the players to take us to the next level. I am glad we are out and I hope Harry sends the kids to play Shamrock. I don’t think we are good enough to play another half a dozen games in Europe and still maintain our form locally. I think we ARE good enough to qualify for CL if we have no other distractions and a bit of good fortune with no major injuries.

    • lecoqhardi says:

You have summed up our position admirably and I agree entirely. And yet you appear to be Australian. I am confused.

    • SpurredoninDublin says:

The problem with “top 4 or bust”, is that it takes three months to work out whether you are genuine contenders or not, by which time, you may well have let two winnable trophies slip through your grasp.

Even if you didn’t win, every cup-tie is a revenue earner. Stoke went on to draw Liverpool at home, they in turn went out to Chelsea. If you think that qualifying for the CL “vital” in terms of money, how do we replace the £30 mill plus in lost revenue that not being in it this year has caused?

Some peoples attitude to the CL is rapidly becoming like their attitude to transfer fees. They moan because DL will not spend silly money on wages and fees for Torres and Carroll, and then they tell you “It’s all about money” but we must not bother ourselves with Cup-runs that will generate some of the needed money.
