The 8 O’Clocker: Modric Unhappy, Samba Wants Out, Remy Deal Off…

Good evening.

This window is so quiet if you close your eyes you can just see Ted Moult pondering over which feather to use. But will Arry fit the best into this the Best Performing Side Since ’61™?

“I’m staying,” Loic Remy told Canal+. “I will 100 per cent stay at Marseille until the end of the season and even the end of my contract.

“I have spoken with the president and the staff. And it would not be right for me to leave this club.

“We’ll see next summer but that’s not even in my head for now.”

Closer to home a young man by the name of Christopher Samba has handed in his notice at Blackburn Rovers. This is hardly a seismic announcement. He was quoted saying, “things have not gone as I was told , it is time for a change”.

He is probably telling the truth. I’m not familiar with every single detail of the ins and outs of the Venky Operation but as I say, ‘you don’t need to fall off a chair to know it probably hurts.’

If I was Blackburn fan I would have had more respect for them if they had simply renamed the club The Peri Peri Pirates.

But what Blackburn got were two three halfwit rumours/threats/lies about Emporer Franz Beckenbauer and Geoff Hurst or similar joining them. It would have been more credible if they’d have said that Nick Griffin was signing.

Steve Kean was recruited for his ability to say,’ yes’ and the only money they put in was to service existing debt. Oh and of course the cash they had to give the Trustees. Anyway, that’s their business.

Modric is ‘unhappy’ says Garth Crooks in his Tean Of The Week column. I wouldn’t go for Garth’s throat though. I see in the little Croat’s body language he’s got issues. I don’t trust him and therefore I’m just hoping we get as much out of him on the pitch before next summer and then as much off the pitch for him in pounds, shillings and pence.

    we got sandro,parker,thudd and young jake we will just havve to buy another creative rat if he wants off in the summer,which is pretty likely but levy doesn’t sell on the cheap too often so whoever is buying will have to bleed too

      I will bet any amount of swanseas energized passing if Hudds is fully healed and Modric get hurt and Parker and Hudds are in the middle we will still win. Also we will score more and still finish in the top four.

    I think Modders will leave in the summer to Spain – and we’ll get Ozil in his stead. We’ll also get some peanuts and a can of wash’n’brite, interior upholstery spray. But we will miss him.

    I have a somewhat dicky tummy.

    it may be my mistrust of him due to the previous distasteful shenanigans but it seems to me his stock is falling by his own hand. On the other hand he has been nothing short of professional so its a tough one to call.

    We have proven we are not a selling club and look where it has got us this season so far.

    Sell him in the summer with the attitude of “we dont need you anymore modders even though you want to stay” Lets now prove we are a club you dont fuck with where the players are privileged to be allowed to pull on the shirt.

    Thats the last piece of the foundation for our future dynasty.

    He can be replaced without bringing anyone in.

      i do bloody love him though and it really would be like seeing my missus with another bloke if he pulls another premier league teams shirt on

      Perhaps Harry in his infinite wisdom, was actually looking at Cole or Eden Hazard, and not Remy?, just thinking out loud ;-)

    Tottenham are now delisted on the stock exchange, which means Levy can pursue private investors – who should be readily available considering our position in the league and our stature as a club.
    By the end of this season we will have nailed a place in the CL for next season and will likely be floating in cash, enabling us not only to proceed with financing the new stadium construction but also revising upward our players salary structure.
    Put 2 and 2 together. Modric will stay.

      Praps Lewis wants to put some cash on the table now and blow ambromobitch out the water.

      @Indyfan

      Don’t know where you get your business model from, but we were in the CL last year and in spite of an additional €30 mill + in turnover, we made a profit of €500k. That allows us to increase one players wages by less than £10k per week.

      @meycyid

      One of the reasons why Cheatski made such a paltry initial offer for Lucre, was because they know they will have to balance the books under FFPR. Lewis is limited under FFPR to topping us up by 5% of turnover. That’s about £6.5 mill. As we all know, £6.5 mill aint what it used to be.

    At last….

    The obligatory “We’re in for Huuntelaar” ITK bollocks has started. Now we know the transfer window is open.
