Levy Needs To Fire Arry TONIGHT

Hello ladies.

Dirty headline. But hear me out.

For the main we played very well. Extremely well. But I’m unconvinced about the prospects of a team who’s manager is all too frequently passing comment in the national press about who he would include in ‘an’ England team he obviously wants and needs to manage.

Am I a cancer among THFC supporters? No. Look at my Tweets this afternoon. I always wish us well. In fact I’m as bonafide deluded as anyone.

There’s something up and I try not to hide behind the questionable decisions of officials. Atkinson got little wrong today. Premiership footballers are temperamental beasts and they need to know who is in charge and where everyone’s heart lies.

The sooner the squad knows who is in for the long term the better. Arry has been wonderful. No two ways about it. But the jig is up. They know he’s off. We know he’s off. So let’s lose the fake goodwill/banter/speculation and focus upon business. This is football club, not a drop in centre for ‘torn’ upwardly mobile millionaires.

I do not blame Arry for the final score this afternoon. I’m no a child in these matters. But I do know you only ever build on solid ground and we’ve a current manager who jumped up and down for every goal against Newcastle and has been in a coma ever since.

NEWSFLASH: We’ll out-selfish you every day of the week, Mr Redschnapps. We’re Tottenham. You’re just passing through my old son.

I agree HH. There can be no doubting that the off the field going-ons have to impact the team, especially one that is built upon man-management relationships like Harry is famed for. What use is Harry putting an arm around Modric now? “i know I’m off and I’m guessing you will probably be off but hey lets not let that get in the way”.
Harry’s lack of animation both last week and this afternoon smacked of a guy who knew his destiny and that will filter to the team without a doubt.
We need 3 big results in a row to get this season finished properly and by that I mean finishing 3rd – NO LESS

next person who says Lambert or Rogers, gets a season ticket to upton park..after all thats what you are asking for…have some self respect!

    • emspurs says:

      Lambert and Rodgers….co-coaching! :-p

    • MysteriousStranger says:

Deny that either team those two manage plays good football – with a considerably smaller budget than ours.

I don’t recall Swansea or Norwich spending £10 or even £16 million on a flop.

When Harry’s previous managerial record was what exactly, on the “achievement over time” scale? At least neither of the candidates you mock have previous links to the Upton Park that you advise getting a season ticket to for suggesting them – unlike our current (but not for much longer) Manager.

      • LLL says:

What a ridiculous comment. When did Norwich or Swansea ever have the opportunity to spend 16m on anyone??

        • MysteriousStranger says:

What’s more ridiculous, is the fact you and others seem to have failed to pick up on that fact, as being exactly the point I was making LLL.

Both the mocked managers being more deserving of credit than managers past and present at Tottenham, “big names”, “statements of intent” such as Juande Ramos and co. – who did sign “big name” players for those types of amounts, who flopped.

        • LLL says:

Yes, I’m sorry about that, admit I didn’t really read through that properly.

I don’t know about a ‘statement of intent’ manager either. The only name that these people will be happy with is Mourinho, and let’s be honest, he isn’t coming.

That said, I’m not sure about your Brendan Rogers and so on. One decent season in the PL with an over-achieving team is not really the right level of experience.

Though it seems to be very unpopular, my choice would be Moyes. He knows everything there is to know about the PL and deserves a chance to work with a better / bigger squad and a budget. Also, if we really are to build this stadium he is exactly the right person to as he is used to working on one of the crappiest budget there is and whether all these simpletons realize it or not, that’s exactly what we will need to be doing.

“…with a considerably smaller budget than ours.”

Yes, also with considerably less pressure to succeed and considerably smaller egos to deal with.

I’ve said it before on here and I’ll say it again – if either of those two is our next manager then we can kiss goodbye to Modders, Bale, VDV, Sandro etc……..

If my old mate Bagpuss does hop, skip and jump in to the England role then I really do hope that Levy makes a statement of intent and goes all out in signing a kick-ass replacement.

        • Phil McAvity says:

And before anyone asks I’m f*cked if I know who that is!! That is why I’m not the Tottenham chairman.

          I’m the cleaner.

        • MysteriousStranger says:

See my response regarding making statements of intent.

And David Moyes was hired by Everton despite never leading a team to the Prem. And he hasn’t exactly done too badly either as a manager.

          And he’s respected.

Perhaps you think players will only sign, stay etc. because Gus Hiddink, or Jose Mourinho is our manager.

I’d like to think they’d sign because we don’t have a bad side, we have good players, and we’re Tottenham Hotspur.

I also made the point previously, that of the current “big name” players as mentioned by yourself – some of them will go anyway, long before they get the chance to pull a Sol on us – so perhaps you should get used to that idea.

        • Phil McAvity says:

“Perhaps you think players will only sign, stay etc. because Gus Hiddink, or Jose Mourinho is our manager.”

As a matter of fact I think the good ones will yes!

RE David Moyes, when you say he is respected…by who? Who are the world class players at Everton who are there due to Davis Moyes being the manager?

      • chiversmetimbers says:

the only reason they haven’t spunked $10-$16 million on a flop is cos they can’t afford to :-p

more to the point $16 million players won’t want to play for them or respect them if they do…

        • LLL says:

Really? I personally think Bentley would run at the chance to play for either of those teams. If he could run that is.

  • Mr Pamplemouse says:

After all George Graham is still without a club, and he did win a cup with us!?!?!

  • Tobes43 says:

I’m starting to worry now about our ability to hold on to 3rd, once Everton & Chelsea are out of the way, some people are suggesting a less than traumatic run-in, not buying it for a sec.

Redknapp was obviously picking his first Engerland squad in his head there today around the 70th min, couldn’t have looked anymore disinterested in what was happening.

Subs? Oh right yeah, give Niko an JD a run. Wot’s the score Joe?
