Good morning.

Well we won despite ourselves. And if you listen to Owen Coyle, against adversity. As previously on ER, I’m bored now. Nobody died and Bolton fans need to look at themselves reviving the Muamba chant late in the game to rouse their players. By the same logic maybe we could have got more out of our lot last season by flashing up images of Wilson Palacios’ relatives on the Jumbotron?

So in a football context…

The positives were certainly Bale who looked like a man restored. Modric planted in front of PNB and Livermore worked excellently. Adebayor and Rafa looked like the mature and talented chaps they undoubtedly are. The most positive positive of all is Arry managing us again.

There, I said it. We have a manager who for the second time in only a few days appears to have grasped what needed doing and acted accordingly. This underlines of course how he went AWOL on us, but it’s refreshing to see him back and taking an interest.

Negatives?

Well we kept making chances and missing them will be the cry. All I can say is I would rather we did that made just 3 chances all game. So no call for anyone out or anyone in from me.

One niggle is I have to question the sanity of these long rang shots unless they’re thunderbolts of eloquently placed. Have you too noticed the increasing, ‘Whaaaat?’ from every guy that misses to his frustrated team mates after missing? Hopefully this can be ironed out by Arry encouraging them to occasionally think of others when in a shooting position.

Saha? Thats a picture of Gallas init?

I thought Livermore was cracking against Bolton…Good stuff.

  • Pressure from our fullbacks in the 2nd half allowed for complete domination and obliged us to take off a central mid for a forward. We finally broke the stalemate once the change was made. A little bit late, but good call Harry, good job Benny and Walker. Of course up by two, maybe we shouldn’t leave our aged center backs completely exposed. Otherwise, an encouraging show.

Was there any offsides from the mighty THFC. there certainly werent many, and Defoe was playing excellent. Work rate and performance much better. Swansea will be a tougher test.
I want Caulker to come back from Swansea and give Ledders a decent retirement before I have to smother him with ale.

Swansea may not end up being as tough a test as one would have thought two weeks ago.

They looked very weary this past weekend and struggled mightily under Evertons constant pressure. One thing I have noticed in recent matches is that Swansea have a terrible time dealing with attack-minded fullbacks. They like to play out of the back, using the flanks, and when they encounter aggressive fullbacks that play higher (while a CM is man marking Allen) they are often forced back to their keeper. Also, their wingers are weak defenders and cannot stay with the likes of Walker or BAE. If Dyer isn’t back for this match, BAE is going to run wild against Routledge.

They are also struggling to pick up runners off the ball, so I am expecting big things from Bale and VdV.

The Everton match was Caulker’s worst performance in months. If it was the first time you had seen Caulker play, you would be really concerned about his defending. He and Williams did not look like they had the energy or desire to chase down Peanut or Baines, who were running circles around them the entire second half. They also lost a lot of their marks on set pieces. Caulker desperately needs the rest he is going to get this weekend.

Cracking game, all round excellent team performance – no-one played below a high standard and was great to see the desire back in the team

Defoe selfishness is a concern – but aside from that I have sent all tream players 2 sausage rolls, but only 1 to defoe – so he learns to share

I’m starting to think Arry’s staying put,Would Levy be handing out contracts on Arry’s say so if he thought he was off?
