Cliff Barnes Wants Dynasty Role

Good morning.

I read this piece in this morning’s Sun and couldn’t help but come to the certain conclusion it was written by Redschnapps himself.

HARRY REDKNAPP wants three more years to build a Champions League dynasty at Tottenham.

Boss Redknapp has held contract talks with Spurs chairman Daniel Levy this week, with senior players fearing he could leave.

Yes, I can imagine Bale is terrified Arry would be replaced by someone who tells him to his face he’s winger.

Redknapp, 65, has only one year left on his deal but remains committed to the club despite the heartache of missing out on the Champions League even though he led the team to fourth place this season

Loss of 12 point advantage glossed over; believing he had the England job not mentioned.

In spite of heart surgery in February and a gruelling court case he wants to continue his job of transforming Spurs into regular Champions League contenders.

Hilarious. Health card played; disbelief suspended that he’s got the either the balls or the brains to land Champions League again.

Redknapp is 65. Three more years would take him to 68 when he may decide to call it a day, having insisted when he took over that this would be his last job in football.

Thanks for the maths. Or is this supposed to appeal to our sense of charity?

Levy and Redknapp also discussed their plans for the transfer market this summer with a new defender on the radar after Ledley King was told yesterday he is free to leave the club

I do hope nobody’s implying Arry’s had any involvement in the Vertonghen deal.

The fact that the lame brain who ghost wrote this uses the word dynasty in relation to Redschnapps is surreal. I made sausages for breakfast yesterday. I might have cereal this morning. Is that a dynasty of breakfasting?

Speaking of soap operas, Vertonghen appears to have confused SSN and a staggering percentage of Spurs fans by announcing in a video interview that he is  close to joining Tottenham. Here.

Up until that presser it was only thought he was close to joining Tottenham. But having now watched the footage it’s clear he’s now actually close to joining Tottenham.

Forget the Jubilee, we’re having a street party to celebrate being retarded!

I could weep. Has anyone got Ian Dowie’s number?

In other news to be – I think Grant Holt is what we will get to replace Adebayor! There’s a reason he gave in that transfer request!

I do think Redknapp is due an awful lot of respect for the rise of Spurs stock since he took over – A lot kore credit than is often given but to me the issue is not about where we’ve been in the last few years but where we go in the next five or ten.

I have a big issue in the way Redknapp has conducted himself over the last 6 months is his teflon-like attitude toward the bad things in life.

Last season I stood up for him – and had many heated arguments on this page, over the ‘this is as good as it gets’ statement. There are ways of representing those words that mean different things and I think his intention was to highlight that the good times were coming back.

But this year, I find it hard to swallow the ‘success story’ of our blowing a 10 point lead for third. Mainly, I think him doggedly sticking to this line is because to admit a problem, would be to admit that he let the England job take his eye off what was happening at THFC.

Like I said yesterday, throughout that period I think he acted like England manager in waiting rather than Spurs manager in office.

I would like to see him stand and say that missing out on CL is not good enough for a club like Spurs. That we shouldn’t be aiming for 4th but higher… But all I hear are soundbites, platitudes and hindsight.

Now we are told he wants to build a dynasty. OK, but surely the time for that was the January window when we were in the CL and the fixture list was stacking up? Surely the time for that was last summer when Levy played a blinder with Modric? Surely the time for that was this Jan when we desperately needed a forward?

Why wait until now? Are we still to believe that Redknapp had nothing whatsoever to do with the transfer activity during these windows? That Saha & Nelsen were Levy’s idea?

Too many seasons now seem to be turning into stop-gaps and I want to see someone make the most of the great squad of players we have before they all bugger off to points East and West for considerably less than they were worth 18 months ago.

Harry has done a lot of good for us and I think we should thank him a lot more than people do. But he’s decided that we’re the best gig in town just a little late for my liking.

Long and the short is that I just don’t trust him any more.

Nice to see you back, and congratulations. I agree, with most of that; my gripe isn’t that he’s made mistakes, its that, he doesn’t correct the mistakes, once he’s made them. With the added dimension of ‘luck,’ the fickle finger of fate, from lady luck, when things go wrong; nothing to do with Harry.

    • Frontwheel 2 says:

A lot of us came to the conclusion ages ago that Harry was not to be trusted.I believe you are being very generous if you think Harry is due an awful lot of respect,Surely any respect due to him has been wiped away by his self serving actions and attitude.
Still on the bright side,I bet you can’t wait to call somebody a happy clapper.

I knew you’d join the A-team eventually Astro! Only took a few months of absentia to sort your head out. Welcome back!

Welcome back, have missed your imput.

A few have mentioned your name, keep it coming, it nice to get reasonable opinions and comments.

As you say, Harry has done us well, as also Levy has in his role as chairman, but perhaps the time has come, to bid a fond farewell.

  • The Tottinghams says:

The Daily mail online have just published an article about Modric going to Man U for £32million. It would be brilliant if everyone on here left a reply to their article pointing out their obvious mistake
