Wayne Bridge’s Starfish

Good morning.

Let’s kick off with the football headline of the week, ‘Tykes Sphinx Mido deal is on’ courtesy of Football365.com which heralds the imminent return to the UK of the onetime Tottenham legend. Mido was another one wasn’t he? Threatened to be the next big thing and …see what I did there?

Modric’s name has been taken in vain again, the poor hen. This time on Spurs Odious with Roger Daily Mail Morgan suggesting that he’s off to Real Madrid for €38M. Is this true? Who knows? What is known is that the press were so determined to keep the Chelsea story going they fabricated 90% of the saga last year that the fact they only bid a little over£25M for him got lost in the mix.

Modric clearly has ambitions beyond our budget and if he’s serious about this Chicken Badge allergy then perhaps we should take this on the chin and say well it’s better than staring at him running about in a Cheatski blouse.

Elsewhere we have the rumour that resurfaces like the Loch Ness monster. Which is to say always from murky waters and during a time of the year where the heavyweight headlines are about hosepipe bans and TOWIE stars getting trapped in tanning booths.

Will it be AEG that buy ENIC out? His Imperial Majesty Sheikh Ma Nuggets or member of One Direction (the one with the lazy eye). All mickey taking to one side, there is such a vast gulf in the money THFC actually has and what is needed to make the NPD happen I wouldn’t fall over if there was something in all this.

Andrea Villas Boas has made history by threatening to quit as our coach before actually being appointed. This decisive, swashbuckling style is precisely what we’ve been missing. But it’s been reported that he is genuinely naffed off that we have, ‘Been speaking to about ten people.’  That’s showbusiness, my old son.

Isn’t the world of football brilliant!!

Wouldn’t it be great to go to a job interview, walk in and ask what the other people sat outside were waiting for. You get told they are getting interviewed for the same job, at which point you tell them to go do one and leave.

I prefer Wayne Bridges missus’ starfish, it looks smaller and im guessing tighter.

So you’re saying I can use my hosepipe? great news all round

  • LosLorentzen says:

I really don’t understand this “if I’m not your first choice, then I’m not interested” malarkey. I’ve interviewed a few people for jobs in the private sector, and not one of them has raised this issue. If they had, my response would have been “Is that so? Door’s over there…”

So what if we’re talking to several people? If we decide to offer him the job, then clearly he’s our first choice – of the AVAILABLE options. Does he honestly think he would be our first choice, ahead of people like Pep and Maureen? No. He’s not our first choice IN THE WORLD. He MIGHT be our first choice, once we’ve ruled out a few long shots.

    Grow up AVB. Grow up.

There’s a big difference in managing a top top club and serving at the local McDonalds though, you might need to read and rite at McDonalds.

    • Harry Hotspur says:

In fairness, this supposed line from AVB has come from the press and isn’t a direct quote.

And what have we spent the last week doing? Wading through pro Arry media bias :-(

      • Razspur says:

Do you mean since Monday HH ?

      • UnkleKev says:

You mean it might not be true?

      • Jamie says:

The Guardian story that broke this was f*cktard journalism at it’s worst. Report an unsubstantiated story, don’t even commit as far as “Guardian sources have been informed by those close to the club”…then wade into “if true” followed by two paragraphs of criticism over something they don’t know. Reminds me of that Harry Enfield character that gets angry about hypothetical situations “Oi AVB, no!”. This paper and the same journalist showed their hand 2 weeks ago with a column of pro Harry Levy bashing…so I’d disregard whatever scandalous tripe he comes up with. Likewise John Cross.

        • Will says:

I hope that you are correct and knowing the leftist English media, lies are rheir backbone, so quite possible.
If AVB is still considered by Levy then I feel that we can say the quote is rubbish as I cannot see Levy stomaching it.

If we do get AVB this will one real helter skeleter ride with two extremes likely and nothing in between IMO.

    • TMWNN says:

If we go by the rule of thumb that everything Spurs related in the ‘professional’ media is lies, then we won’t be far from the truth.

  • Poshspur says:

I’ve no comment as nothing has happened to comment on, oh balls I’ve commented.

  • Paddyspurs says:
