£31M Release Fee For Mooted Modric Replacement

Image for £31M Release Fee For Mooted Modric Replacement

Good morning.

Ten days to go, a new manager at the helm and yet we’re scratching for transfer news. The Mirror are taking a punt by naming Bentley, *****, Gio, Bassong and Gallas amongst those who Villas-Boas isn’t interested in keeping on.

Bentley’s linked with Fulham. Apparently Bentley’s knee is fixed now and he’s ready to rock. Judging by this image from the preseason, it was the steak and kidknees that he has really been been battling against.

The Modric and Adebayor sagas appear no more advanced that they were months ago. ‘The Journalist’ who’s record is close to abysmal suggests that enquiries have been made for Alex Witsel as a replacement for the Croat.

Witsel is a 23 year old Belgium currently plying his trade at Benfica. This seems ambitious from a number of perspectives but none more so than Benfica’s president Luis Felipe Vieira being quoted last month as saying:

“We want every club to know what is the release clause for Axel .

“If they want him and if they come here and pay that fee, then there is nothing that we can do.

“But we are very happy with Axel and we do not think about selling him.”

The release clause he was referring to is thought to be about £31M.

Lets be frank … How do we know anything will happen?? The media have linked us with every player going, from goalkeepers to front men … I don’t see Damio comming (leave that to his wife!!) but would be nice to see him in a Spurs Shirt, I still think all our targets are linked to the end of Olympic football only then will Spurs act and I have a funny feeling about Hulk (well not that kind of funny!!) … as for Ade, well rid, he only performs when he is on show, when he is taken full time he goes on the back burner. We need 1 goalkeeper, no defenders or midfield and two forwards. total outlay 50-70 million max, I also feel that if we had had no cash AVB would not have joined and i am still not convinced that the sale of Modric is the be all and end all, after all AVB said when he joined he wanted to keep him so he could not have been reliant on the dosh from the sale. Levy is a great businessman but even he know that you have to spend sometimes and that is something he did not do under Harry so there is a lot of cash in the bank … Look at Arshols suddenly spending, even Rednose at ManU has found a few bob down the sofa, Levy knows this year we need to spend big to stay in touch with the others – he has run the team/accounts long enough to understand that. No when the Olympics are done then we will see some movement.

We spent shiteloads under Harry, the problem was most of it was in the first window.

      • TMWNN says:

..and most of the players he bought were shite: Crouch, Pointy, Defoe..

        • james says:

yeah, we spent alot then, but i think over the next windows we started to balance out that over spend and hey, crouch scored the winner at man city for champs league, worth every…but he did score the o.g….nah, hes so shit! waste of money

And all of it-spunked-It took the genius of Levy to get something back out of them, and he’s still having to salvage something out of Bentley, Dos Santos and a few others from the previous regime before investing further. It’s no wonder he didn’t allow Harry to loosen the purse strings in the last few windows isn’t it?

Why ,I just love a bit of axel schnitzel But £31 million hmmm
Can I have a half portion instead ?
I can’t believe we let the goodness sign santi carzola come on Daniel /avb sort this mess out before we start the season we need players and quickly .
Chicken rat should go at reasonable price £30 is more than enough in my book .
If we do not buy soon and we start the season poorly the press will be on AVB back before you can say Hakuna matata calling for his head.
No doubt any slips and Harry will be on tv sticking the knife in if we screw up and taking all the credit if we eventually do well.
My prediction poor start but unlike last year strong Finnish
    COYS let’s get moving

…previously it was “when the Euros are done, we will see…”

…now its, “when the olympics are done, we will….”

Realistically, I’ll be happy with a ***** sale and 6th position. But I’m resigned to suffering the boredom and embarrassment of seeing ***** turning up for the Spurs in F*cking 2012/2013. I just can’t believe Levy’s foolishness.

Sell the family silver, sell the Bentley Dan, charge players a grand a week for car parking, do whatever it takes, just….Get Some In (RAF National Service comedy of the ’70’s).
Break the bank to sign Llorente and Moutinho, the Goalkeeper situ can wait until January.
