I’ve Lost All Faith

Good evening.

I have no faith.I might have thought I had when I was a child. But it’s gone.

Kishna, born 1000 yrs BC, son of a carpenter, was baptised in river. Mithra, born 600 BC curiously enough on December 25th, performed miracles, was resurrected on the 3rd day. He was known as The Lamb, The Way, The Truth, The LIght The Saviour, The Messiah.

The big hitter though has to be the ‘rather popular’ Egyptian god Horus who in 1280 BC was known the son of Osiris. He was also born to a virgin, baptised in a river by a bloke who later had his head chopped off. Horus did a stint of desert business, getting tempted, all that jazz.

He was an absolute whizz at healing the sick, blind and cast out demons like it was going out of fashion. When he wasn’t recorded as having walked upon …water. Pity none odf his descendants were involved at the Sunderland game today, eh? Horus also raised a guy called ‘Asar’ from the dead. The translation of this name is ‘Lazarus’. Horus had 12 (count ’em) disciples, was crucified, then was discovered by 2 (count ’em) ladies who declared him ‘risen’.

That said, faith isn’t for schmucks.  If something gives you comfort. I’ll be the very last to suggest you’re a fool. It’s vital part of the way humans go about their business.

But all I ask of people is don’t try and pass it off  faith as being either truthful or …factual. It isn’t an imaginary friend tending to the sick, it’s scientists and doctors. And if my own Living Will is executed to the very letter, coked up Vegas showgirls.

Spurs fans carping about André Villas Boas after 2 games need to jack it in and find themselves a new god. Because dealing with reality is clearly too much for them to cope with.

Do you know the last time I watched a game close to where we passed so deftly, tackled with such spirit? It was the UEFA Cup Final against Anderlecht.

I was genuinely proud of us today. The best analysis you will ever read and player ratings for you in the morning.

Of course it was heartbreaking to watch them equalise, but I have absolute faith in intelligence, wit and guile. The boss is building something rather special here. The result today hurt, but I’m still so excited about this season.

So in my headline I lied.

Confused, upset?

Oh you must be new…

Yes, we passed the ball well today. Yes we dominated possesion for oh such part of the game… but…what the f…Jenas? After that everyhing felt apart. Brom buttf us… Thhy should have scored more even… we clearly lack the cutting edge. We cant stand out some pressure… we need a bettet centre half. We need a new stopper. And we need the maestro in the middle of the park.. damnit…two point lost… how on earth can we compete we cheatski, shitty, utd? We are sooo much behind. And why didnt we get sahin? Im gutted. And not at all certain we will compete for top 5…

Jenas… I would have been more interested in Dos Santos coming on for Lennon, he was spent anyway and what damage could having firepower either side of the midfield do? To me that would have been a positive, Jenas was as usual instantly anonymous.

    Thank you for making sense!
I’m sick of reading negative tweets and wot not about AVB! “He ruined Chelsea” do me a favour! After he went Chelsea turned back into what they were before, A boring boring defensive anti-football team.
I really think he is building something close to “total football” here, and given time and support we can be one of the most celebrated and entertaining teams in the world!
    I believe in AVB.
    COYS!

    Hi,

i kinda understand this but failing to use chances like that today cost them the game. I really hope the Damiao and Willian thing comes off cos we need some serious flair

Got a good head on ya. I thought, especially early in the first half, that Spurs looked fantastic and I love that they actually have a plan of attack suited to the opposing team rather than just running around and gunning a cross into the box. The balls to players at the top of the box and last weeks cross-field balls to lennon from benny are encouraging to see.

In US football they keep statistics on yards gained through passing and rushing. No prizes for guessing which Spurs midfielder, who shall remain *****, achieved negative yards again today.
    Why is he still there?

‘Overseas’ contributors are hugely valued here, so please do call again :daumen:

Great question and one which might be better aimed at Mr D. Levy.

I suspect no club has been prepared to pay him what we pay him.

One pint of lager and a bag of hedgehog flavored crisps might be pushing it?

He is like the worn and faded jacket that sits in the Tailors shop window that no one wnats. Every year the Tailor pulls it out (the jacket you sicko’s) and gives it a dusting and puts on display in a prominent part of the shop hoping that some mug will come in and think it’s one of those retro things and buy it.
Problem is it is so bad (think lime green double breasted with airplane wings for lapels)and the tailor thinks it’s an antique so it’s way over priced that no one wants it. There you have it in a rather large nut shell our Jenas dilemma.
