A Lightning Poll On The Norwich Game – Vote Now!

Good evening.

The issue of the moment really does appear to be that of booing.  Oh yes, you can always rely upon me to have my finger on the pulse. Don’t you worry about that. I’m blessed with the vision of a hawk, the flighty mental agility of Sapphire & Steel.

To boo or not to boo?

The case from the defence counsel: Negativity in the workplace ain’t no good. It spreads like a poison and with an equally ‘orrible effect. If a reader can point to just a single example whereby anyone ever raised their game in any environment by being booed then us know. To paraphrase the old Monty Python line, ‘Boo some sense into ‘im!’

Booing your own is counter productive. Home fans booing is sabotage, they should sit in the away end.

The case from the prosecuting counsel: Depriving people of free speech isn’t on. These days fans are called ‘customer reference numbers and so why shouldn’t they be simply allowed to voice their dissatisfaction as customers? If a business doesn’t listen to it’s customers then surely it’s screwed.

I boo to let all concerned know that I’m not happy.

Can you so called supporters that boo please give back your season tickets so that proper supporters can get a chance to support the team Coys

Watched the game on tv. I live too far away to attend in person. It seemed that there wasn’t much of an atmosphere, heard a few chants but little else. I remember when I did attend games sometimes it was almost as though you knew the result before the game kicked off.

Upbeat mood, good result. Sombre mood, poor result. Trouble is what was needed was a spark to ignite some passion. Seems to be fear and uncertainty at the moment. Hopefully all we need is a win and things will get back normal.

Now AVB has time after the international break to get things sorted. Get the new players in, get everyone else onboard.

Games for Spurs against the lesser lights have often been a thorn in the side. Including Redknapp. Seems to be a Spurs thing.

I think the fixture list has almost been unkind in a way. A game against a top team might have got the crowd and players up for it.

Can understand why people Boo. But it helps no one.

    • LLL says:

Unkind fixtures? Pfft. Can’t have it both ways. If we’d played Utd, Chelsea, City, Arse I’m sure there’d be plenty of complaints.

  • Ronnie Wolman says:

criticizing your team and booing them are two different things.
The first could come with some positive ideas or positive hope but booing is a disgusting thing to do.

  • Schotty says:

In total agreement Dorset Spurs … I have to hold my hand up and say I wasn’t in favour of dispensing with HR. However, that’s now history. HH knows I didn’t see things his way and will concur. IMHO booing the side, regardless, is unforgivable. It shows we’ve become one of those tribes that expect instant gratification irrespective of the opposition. Some bright sparks looked at the fixture list and declared we’d have 9 points after the first three games. Show some respect for the opposition, who also have a lot to prove coming up against the mighty Spurs!
We have a lot of newish players in key areas of the pitch, running down the spine of the side. It will take some time for these guys to build up understandings with their new team mates. It might help if we hear that they are coming in for extra training sessions … Even for the settled members of the squad, they’re having to adapt to AVB’s methods.
If we have to vent our displeasure against anyone, surely it should be Daniel Levy for waiting till the final day of the Transfer Window before trying to sign 3/4 players – doomed to fail. He has appointed AVB, given him a brief, then tied his hands together by leaving it too late to bring them into the club in readiness for the new season.
On this occasion, my sympathies lie with AVB.
IF YOU ARE A TRUE FAN, IT IS NEVER ACCEPTABLE TO BOO THE TEAM …

No, no, you aren’t permitted to criticize him either. Everything is tickety-boo, this is exactly how I thought and hoped it would all unfold.

    • Habib says:

      Exactly Schotty!

    • Milky Bar Yid says:

Did Levy play Defoe upfront alone? Did Levy pick Sandro and Livermore as the CM pairing? Did Levy take off a striker for a midfielder at 1-0 up to see the game out? And more importantly did he do the above 2 weeks on the trot?

      • Odd Ball says:

wow,,,,,,no but fluck me he got a extra time contract…..levy did it…..not the salami man-

      • Clarkspur says:

I don’t understand the 2 defensive midfielder thing at all. It just destroys the dynamic of possession and moving the ball quickly. But let’s say there is some logic to it that’s just not working out on the pitch, how long can AVB sit and watch it fail before changing it?

Surely he must realise that beyond training, press conferences and the dreaming BS of transfer windows, football is actually played in the 90 minutes on the pitch. Why he’s sticking with a formation that every one can see is not working? He doesn’t have to make a sub to relay information and get them moved around.

I tell you, I don’t get managers and the army of bods advising them, taking notes, etc. The stands and armchair fans alike are sitting there screaming to change it, shout something sensible onto the pitch that brings around a decent effect – something to show us that it’s not all stubborn posturing.

Jol (who I loved at the club) once said nothing can be changed during the game, you can only change it on the training pitch after. Arry, bless him, didn’t even like to make subs, let alone change something that didn’t work. Now we have AVB who seems to take 70 minutes to make a tactical change, only to change it back with another sub within 10 minutes….

What do we have to do to get some common sense in the gaff?

    • Winston wolf says:

You last statement is what really gets me,who are you to judge a “true fan” or me for that matter. I’m not pro or anti booing(although at half time is a bit harsh),I have booed before I won’t at the moment. I’m behind Avb,levy & the team like 95% of us I’m not happy about results so like most us I’m on abit of a downer but it’s like grieving we all do it differently as a result people boo it’s a reaction yes some people are idiots, moaners & until things get better the crowd may split in their opinions, but nothing pisses me off more than someone telling me how I should behave when I’m paying clientele & I’m not going to take any nonsense from self appointed happy clapper judges I’ve had my ticket for a long time & paid a hell of alot over the years, you want to applaud people like jenas & dare I say bently that’s your choice. As for people saying want do the players think if they hear booing frankly if I was in there position I’d be embarrassed they are professionals & receive a comfortable lifestyle as a result. So to reiterate yes I agree let’s get behind the team, there is a difference of opinion about current form, personnel & transfers amongst us & also a difference in opinion of how people should act,I won’t boo this Avb’s side but don’t tell me I can’t & if I do it doesn’t make me a fan & deserve to have my seat taken away. I feel things will get better infighting & differences of opinion will always be amongst us but in good times it quiettens down as everyone the booers & non booers are content when at the lane

  • Damn Meoww says:

I was booing consistently yesterday afternoon.

But I was playing hide and seek with my 2 year old niece.

On the other booing matter, I really can’t seem to care either way. All I know is I love my team and yeah, it hurts when we lose, it makes me happy when we win but I will always love my Spurs regardless.

We need to get behind the boys and stop turning on each other.

    COYS

    • Margate says:

We need to unite against the common enemy. Namely, The Judean Peoples Front.

    • Harry Hotspur says:

Interesting you talk of ‘turning on each other’, Mr Meoww.

I was talking to Arseblogger, by far the very biggest female reproductive organ in the Arsenal blogosphere a day or two ago he we both used the word ‘cannibalism’ in relation to our and their supporters.

      Whodathunkit?

      • Damn Meoww says:

They should sack Levy and let me become chairman.

Chairman Meoww has a nice ring to it………

On a serious note, I really can’t believe some of the animosity towards each other on here in the last few days. Who would have support we are all on the same side……

        • Damn Meoww says:

          *thought not support

        • Harry Hotspur says:

All I can say is please call again.

          Reason is always welcomed.

        • jfdit says:

maybe a bit of honesty needed by the board in relation to exactly why ‘arry was sacked, I’ve been told that Levy allegedly caught him touting himself for the liverpool & chelsea gigs hence why he was dumped just after they appointed their new managers.

        • SuperSpurs says:

Very true, FrontWheel, a regular poster has indeed shown his true colours over the past couple of days. Foul mouthed and abusive dosen’t come close. Kids ehhhh …..

        • Frontwheel 2 says:

Oh my God,what a passive, aggressive twat you really are.Trying to police the pages is HH’s job so snidey unfunny comments ain’t wellcome.I’m nearly 50 son so your wrong there too,and changing my name to cuntwheel(which made me laugh)is a wee bit foul mouthed.Knobend

      • jfdit says:

I recall a discussion after the cheatski semi final mauling when ‘arry’s future was being keenly discussed

the fact our own fans were fighting each other at wembley speaks volumes, we have two or three splinter movements within the spurs support at the moment and some unhappy campers within the ranks

when the away support starts singing tactical advice to the manager I think it’s probably time for change

        • LLL says:

How long before the fans start singing ‘Defoe – he can’t play alone’ then?

        • jfdit says:

the most worrying aspect of his reign to date was the sight of J**** in the 1st eleven

that alone would be a sacking offence if repeated in the league ;-)
