Evenin’ all.

So we managed to do that which the mighty Manchester United could not. Mind you, they probably didn’t get the benefit of being gifted a goal that was offside.

The linesman raised his flag and after the briefest of consultations Mike Dean overruled his assistant and the boos rang around Craven Cottage.

Not to say that I agree with that interpretation of the offside rule, but the way they ref it these days Gallas wasn’t “involved in the play” even if he did stretch for the ball.

Personally I think the player should have to clearly indicate that he is expressly “not involved in the play” (hands up, head down, walking back onside). Today, however, I will gladly accept the more modern interpretation.

I would say he has to be involved by virtue of being in front of the goal, the keeper etc.

But grateful to have fortune in our favour on this occasion.

Yes indeedy. Fulham have every right to feel aggrieved. That said, Billy was only marginally off and I don’t think his presence kept Schwarzer from saving Thud’s shot.

A real no-win situation for Mike Dean. Either way his decision went, it was going to be harsh.

I kinda think our top 4 status does have offer some fear factor; can you imagine the Fulham players seeing the teamsheet…..now we have VDV on it we are so close. A striker for Xmas and we are top 4 again; Manure are vulnerable as are The Goons..

i’m not saying we are better than our rivals but they are not looking as solid as usual

we have some fine players who appear to becoming a bit more battle hardened, spurs lillywhite belly getting ripped

MOTD boys reckon Mike Dean got it right, and I take that as the absolute final word.

      That Fulham probably got jobbed.
