Krankies’ Back And Here’s Both Goals!

Nico Kranjcar has been subject to a number of transfer rumours of late.

Depressingly, I see yet another one of these new Spurs blogs has struck a new low and even C&P’d from the NOTW that Newcastle are also in for him. Look, arrival of VdV was bound to cause ripples, but it’s a grim game afoot here that Krankie is targeted as the man on the way out. Presumably on the basis he could probably command something resembling a transfer fee. Unlike some.

Tottenham have a lot of football ahead of them. And as I get kind of bored of pointing out to those gentle souls who think one player per place is a viable plan, that requires depth. What about suspensions? What about injuries?

You don’t have to be a rocket scientist to spot this guff a mile off either. Anyone notice how so many alleged ITK’s had no real info to peddle in the summer, so they came up with a new spin? Quite cunning if you were only trying to deceive a 6 year old. It goes a little something like this…‘The two clubs have agreed a deal but it won’t happen until January…’

The NOTW are many things but they aren’t too daft. But this is actually funny. They’ve taken it one step further. In a blissfully quote free piece is this little gem: ‘The Toon want the Croatian international to sign a pre- contract deal [in January] so that he can move to St James’ Park for nothing next summer.’

Yeah and I’ve got Sylvie Van der Vaart popping round on Monday to arrange to give me a back rub in 2011.

A couple of summers ago I suggested it might be interesting to keep a list of the number of potential signings we were associated with. I stopped at about 20 and that was within the first fortnight.

The Press have always been a little suspect with some of their ITKs but the web is almost completely full of fairy tales. It is far too tempting for a struggling site to suggest that “Arry is interested in KaKa” knowing that :

    A. It will pull in loads of traffic

    B. Nobody is ever going to dispute it

    C. If it does come off they can claim to have been the ‘first’ to tell

The most suspicious aspect of the Kranjcar story is why Newcastle or Everton would declare their interest now ?

    It’s just more bollocks

I love Krankie: superb player, proper footballer.

Trouble is, there are only 4 (or 5) positions to fill in MF and we have 6 or 7 great players to fill ’em…

Kranky’s a player in the VdV mould, but without the pace – an outstanding deputy when the injuries / suspensions hit (San Siro, anyone?), especially once we get used to playing one up top…

I feel bad for the boy, but realistically, he was never in the first XI last season and now we have added VdV, Sandro and even J*n*s has lost some of his stars…

With 3 years left to run on his contract, I don’t see him trading in dining in Covent Garden with his Croatian team mates for eating a bag of chips and a Ginsters pie while being battered by wind and rain off the North Sea.

N.O.T.W isn’t fit to crouch over and pass last night’s takeaway into.

Just caught a glimpse of the Commonwealth Games and some of the athletics. About 4 people sat in it, but so far away from the action in the middle due to the running track, they may as well have been in Bangladesh.

Spammers, you are welcome to the Olympic Stadium.

Yeah, let them have cos then they’ll be in the Chumpionship. Obviously, their new name will be quite apt – West Ham Olympic aka WHO….?

    • Harry Hotspur says:

The idea of playing football there is actually borderline insane.

Not even all the seats are permanent.

If I were an unscrupulous individual, I’d get underway those machinations that were required to aid West Ham into the gaf.

“Unexpected Butt Plug. Hence the Sullivan interest.”

    Weapon of Ass Destruction?
