Online petitions then…Eeausch.
The older I get the more hostile I become to things that do not work. It’s like whoever was put in charge of natural selection forgot that there was other stuff out there beyond us animals. So I kindda vowed the only way I’m going within 10 ft of another online petition was if I got paid.
This is worth dragging into the limelight however – and I’m gutted to add, no money changed hands.
There was a time when I let Andy Gray bother me. I remember watching us beat Villa one time and as the third Spurs goal went in, the man who delivers the banal as if it were the word of God nit picked and grizzled at Tottenham short comings and how superior the Villa play was.
But then by being relentlessly exposed to this virus of a man, my immune system kicked in. Suddenly all I could hear was a dull hum of emphatic, exaggerated nothingness. Don’t get me wrong, he still sneaks through now and again. Joe Hart’s penalty save at the weekend was superb. Gray called it as a fluke.
This petition then.
Alan Smith used to niggle just because of his monotonous drone. But his pro Arsenal bias has now reached a point where it needs curbing.
With the score in the recent Cup game at 1-1 he was using phrases like ‘men against boys’ and whilst Jack Whilshire did stand out in the first half, he disappeared in the second. This didn’t deter Smith continuing his pitch though. We got the entire brochure. Each page lovingly hand turned by the devoted fan.
I like passion. I do. I don’t want to listen to a Speak Your Weight Machine. But Smith needs to find some balance. Only a percentage of his audience want to hear him gush about Arsenal. But 100% of his audience pay his wages.

I suggest we force Skys hand by chanting ‘Alan Smith you’re a c@unt’ full belt for 90mins at every live Spurs game this little turd is commentating on.
That is a worthwhile cause, and more likely to succeed.

I feel quite strongly about this as i pay the extortionate amount for Sky Sports HD and have had to listen to this biased and anti-spurs commentary on every Spurs game i’ve watched so far! I have been meaning to write to Sky about this for a while and have indeed been thinking about cancelling my Sky subscription over this. I should be allowed to focus on the match and not have to swear at a commentator who is clearly biased and anti-spurs. Indeed it is his job as a commentator to be impartial and give his ‘professional opinion’ on the match. Even Andy Gray in recent years has began to do this.
I said the same thing on teamtalk after we played against FC Twente in the CL a few weeks back. That big nosed c@nt was at his peak of trash talking anything that was good about Spurs on the night. I genuinely hate this man & would quite happily knock some of that scummy gooner sh!t that currently resides in the tw@ts gob. I’s also like Sky to ban him from commentating anymore on our games, Andy Gray all day long for me.
Charlie Nicholas is another c-unit.
Dont think the dirty wee oik has ever said anything remotely encouraging about spurs…….id like to rip his ear-ring off and feed it to him.

I have complained about Smith’s woeful summarising on lots of sites. Why do we have all these ex-Arsenal players as summarisers? Keown, Smith, Dixon, Merson, Nicholas – Arsenal may be good to watch now but for years they were so dull and uninspiring when this lot played that they made the Welsh Assembly programme look like a banned episode of Desperate Housewives! Smith is totally biased against Spurs, and his appalling nasal whine grates on your very nerve ends! Pass the earplugs, Missus.
