Anti Stratford Protest – Pointless Wash Out

Emily Pankhurst, Bobby Sands, that chap who got run over by a tank in Tiananmen Square, the Fathers For Justice bloke in a Batman suit… and now a few dozen idiots with a badly drawn bed-sheet partially blocking a B road.

Initial reports from optimistic agitators was of some 500 people involved. One can only presume the other 476 were stuck in traffic.

The media impact was a tidal wave of inertia. The Haringey Bugle & Recorder put up a few pictures but alas, no copy.

There is an argument for staying at The Lane but it isn’t being made coherently by disingenuous creeps like David Clammy.

Too much low rent shouting and not enough thinking. Too little dealing of facts and too much division and name calling.

On the Alan Brazil breakfast this morning there was some mockney ‘I’ll tell yoo wot pal!’ cartoon character shouting that he didn’t think the move to Stratford would take place as a he didn’t think we’d want to play with a running track around the pitch’.

And then of course we have the sainted David ‘expenses” Clammy with his Rent-An-Intellectual-Property-Lawyer announcing that THFC trading as THFC outside of Haringey would constitute ‘passing off’.

Too much stupidity and too much disinformation.

From the list of people above who should be blamed for the Stratford lack of planning, it is Ken Livingstone rather than Boris who should shoulder the blame. http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/other_sports/olympics_2012/4854520.stm

Ken was against football being considered from the start: that is why London is now left with a problem.

Weird, being at the game yesterday I thought about the High St atmosphere, and all the shops and kebab restaurants and pubs etc. That would all be gone in corporate land. I think, unsentimentally, the financials are such that it is a no-brainer for the directors, and if our bid is accepted then this will happen, and to be honest protests etc. will not make a difference – the financial case is too strong.

As usual with any major project we are left with indecision and blundering . In Britain we seem to have perfected the art of amateur planning. The sad reality is that Spurs may well be the only game in town for the LOCOG and Stratford may be the only game in town for Spurs, unless we just do nothing which DL will not .

Bear in mind that Multiplex were building the Westfield shopping centre at the same time as they were building Wembley stadium, I suspect that there was some kind of build crossover which caused a few problems. The problems caused by chicaneering in the awarding of build contracts….greasy palms perhaps a private build leaching (lunching) off the public build was the reason for the delays, leaving joe public with the bill!
