Two Out, One in…

Help yourself to a Slow News Day warning from Reception.

The David Bentley saga rumbles onwards sidewards . Having miserably failed to live up to even the most meager of expectations for Spurs, he wandered off to West Ham and got injured possibly without even kicking a ball. I can’t tell you for sure such was my wholehearted lack of interest.

Rob Segal, Mr Bentley’s agent told MLS Soccer.com,

“This is something that is really interesting for David, as it will also get him fit through the summer, he would like to go there on loan as soon as possible.”

Yeah I bet he would. The world’s finally turned on it’s head hasn’t it? Imagine the equivalent of this in the ‘real’ world’ for just a moment. Your boss calls you into his office and says you need to up your game. You’re not hitting your targets. So instead of threatening you with being performance managed out the side door with bin bag containing your personal effects, he instead suggests you accept a transfer from the Haringey office to the one in Beverley Hills.

Elsewhere Dances With Scones looks like he’s going to be out for even longer than initially anticipated with Goal.com reporting the threat of a second bout of surgery. Gout is not our friend.

And thank the sweet merciful lord we’ve finally secured the signature of Bruno Uvini. The Sao Paulo 19 year old centre back announced the lease/purchase deal on the Sao Paolo site

“It’s a great opportunity that arose and could not pass up. It had been a time we were talking and Tottenham are a big club, with worldwide exposure, and has asked me to introduce me.

Will be three months for me to adapt to English football, the club and culture. I have a great professional and personal growth with this choice”.

Maybe he’s going over there to be a soccer mom. MLS = mom’s love soccer.

Before everyone shoots me down, I know YouTube compilations make players look good but I checked out Hazard (Edin not Micky) and at 21 years of age looks real class . Gutted about the Thudd but on a brighter note it will be fun watching the scum get spanked tonight.

it can’t be bad getting known in brasil for thfc, seems like our stock is going up everywhere,if hazard is a winger then that is what we need whether its bullshit or not,i don’t really care but its good for the chavs and goons to hear about, levy and harry haven’t done a bad job as it is

personally i don’t think any of our players should get more than 70/80 grand a week, give them bonus for goals and actually winning if they want more or if adebayor needs to help people in togo which is what he said about his huge pay packets do it another way,it would be nice to say you can play for us for this or f**k off but obviously the world don’t work like that and when you really watch spurs it is supa luka that makes us tick so what can you do other than find another one, which ain’t going to be easy :cwy:

we can’t pop the champagne until top 3 is in the bag anyway,if we get there then the ball is firmly in levys court

Bentley would do quite well in MLS. Except for my luverly Sounders and a couple of others teams, it’s all pretty much “lump it into the mixer” football. DB lite can do that from RW.

For all his shortcomings, he definitely has delivery a cut above what you typically see in the MLS. Considerably less pressure on the ball carrier as well, so wouldn’t be surprised if he found the back of the net now and then (considering Dawkins scored, what, 6 last season?).

      • Steveo1987 says:

But didn’t DB play pretty good in the run in for the CL a while back? Some keep saying he’s too slow but he was doing ok at one stage that’s why we bought him. I don’t like this “whipping boy” syndrome.

        • LosLorenzo says:

Never had it in for him as bad as some seem to. Yeah, he’s slow, but so is Krankie. And he has filled in decently on several occasions. Nowhere near lived up to £15m, though, so there is a real case for being a bit disappointed.

        • seattlespursguy says:

I don’t think his ability to be a decent player in dispute, but his application has seemed pretty poor.

    • Phil McAvity says:

I just can’t bring myself to dislike the guy due to him scoring ‘that’ goal and the subsequent Fanzone that followed!!

WHAT A GOAL IT WAS!!! I also seemt to remember Lennon getting injured and Bentley filling in, and after a run of a few games was playing some good football again….problem was, he soon got injured and Lennon was back in the team.
I always felt, given a run of games he’d step up…for me, he’s still one of the best crossers in the league since Beckham. What a waste :-(
