Good afternoon.
€75,000 a week is the salary being touted by Dutch journalist Jan van Eyck . Personal terms are not the issue. But the stumbling block appears to be the fee. The gap between the alleged asking price and the alleged offer seems big, if not insurmountable.
Ajax are said to want €16.3M for Jan Vertonghen and Spurs are supposedly offering €10.1M.
For the Eredivisie player of the 2011/12 season it seems to be small change and we need to get this done before the whole thing goes sour and we’re left clutching straws.
Vertonghen’s stock is well valued or so it seems …with Bruins Slot (a scout at Ajax, ex-assistant at Barcelona, “Vertonghen is a left-footed Koeman. Don’t understand why Barça don’t push for him.”
If anyone thinks this is going to be done before the winner of the Champions League is announced I think they are being incredibly optimistic. This guy is the real deal and will not come cheap.
Excellent work by Mr. Levy.
At these times of economic setbacks with shares losing values fast and oil prices dropping by 10% all indications are pointing to an inevitably unavoidable global economic recession the ill effects of which will spare no one and no market, the football market included.
By June, Ajax will be willing to sell by far less.
What a load of old tosh. Did you enjoy Gallas running round behind King while CFC tonked us 5-1 and Qpr beat us at Loftus Road.
In these harsh economic times everything still goes up for the fans at WHL.
the boy wants to come to Spurs do you really think no-one else will come in for him.
West Stand by any chance.
By June you mentalist, he’ll be preseason training with someone else!
Exactly, by June he won’t cost us anything as someone else will have signed him!!
Everything goes up at THFC for the fans except the quality of players. Buy this lad he wants to come to Spurs.
Have we got a new ground….er no buy the player Levy get it done.
levy has to balance the books…really new contract for Jenas, still paying Bentley, Gomes. Stop taking the piss Mr Levy.
Maybe its as all bollocks eh .
Our season tickets, are still the same.
Show them the money Levy. You know it makes sense.
Unfortunately… It appears that time stopped at the final whistle on Sunday and will not resume until the final whistle on Saturday night… COYS and COBM!!!
i believe the new ground is ready to be opened, its between whitewebbs lane and bulls cross in enfield near invicta cricket club.(the images on google are from last year tho ,so you can see it being built ).
as for vertonghen heard a rumour that he has said that ac milan might be ready to make there move on him and that he said ” who could turn down a move to milan ” but i dont know if this was a old quote.
i just hope we get him soon before its too late.
