Well hello Dolly.

The Daily Star is jackanape central, eh? Jermaine J**** being lined up to replace Joseph Barton at Queens Park Rangers. And to get suspicious readers into the zone, they’ve even run the piece accompanied by a snap of the Tottingham dynamo sporting a moustache.

In next week’s Daily Star, Des O’Connor to  replace Slur Alex.

Jan Vertonghen’s getting as restless over his transfer as most Spurs fans.

“I’ve said repeatedly that Tottenham are my first choice, but the talks haven’t progressed,” said centre-back Vertonghen, 25.

“They have shown me around, I have met all their key people and their chairman came to meet me on Monday. But Arsenal want me too.

They remain a possibility if my Spurs move falls through, as Ajax are asking €15m for me.”

Ordinarily this sort of whoring gets right up my hooter. But whilst €15m is probably more than the value of everything I own, relatively it’s chicken feed.

After watching Gary Cahill take about a fortnight to look like he had been playing for the Blue Racists forever, it would be seriously unfunny to watch another vital addition end up in enemy hands.

OK Levy, play the hardass…..let Vertonghen sign for another club…..just be prepared for the tsunami of shit heading your way .Remember that you can’t fool all the people all the time and that it is no good building a 60,000 stadium if no fucker is going to turn up.

  • The Elephant in the room is Modric.

    Ok its not.

  • Dannyspurs says:

The way things have gone recently (Harry, CL, Modders etc) we MUST start building momentum. Outside of getting rid of ‘sir talkalot’, buying players is the next best thing at this point in pre season. Would love to see quality players brought in and be a part of the squad during pre-season (i.e. not buying people 2 weeks into the season as the widow shuts).

Danny L pull your socks and let’s get this down. Surely when he is signed to a long term deal, his transfer value will be higher than we paid?

If he doesn’t pull this off then question will be asked.

  • The Tottinghams says:

Totally agree with the Cahill comment. I think that might have gotten us 3rd above Le Arse. We do need a statement that we intend to keep on improving and rising

    • UnkleKev says:

I suspect Cahill was asking for a lot more money than we were prepared to pay and so he naffed off to West London where they were prepared to meed his demands. At the time we were by far the more attractive option open to him football-wise (a first-team place was virtually guaranteed) so I don’t think we can blame Levy for this one.

  • Levy has taken a very defensive view to buying since he went nuts buying a whole bunch of ex squeegy cleaners that he paid 15 mil for and couldnt get tuppence for them afterwards.

So now he is overly cautious

last season he bid for all these European players 30 million each when he realized that because of the time difference in Europe, the time had run out (is that timewasting?)

Now he does the opposite and as soon as the bell goes runs over to Europe and they now have all the time in the world.

As Steve Martin says Time-ming is not something that Daniel Levy is good at.Yes he is a good businessman but I know when you bid TOO low sometimes its difficult to get to where reality is.

    • Paddyspurs says:

Levy is the man who should be leaving ! He won’t go the extra mile we will be the laughting stock again when jan v signs for arsenal sure who can blame modric and bale for leaving the club with no ambition ! Well done mr levy again again again ! Same old story !

      • I dont think you can discount Levy. You can discount the money but not Levy.
The man is a clever business man and we were within a hair (Defoes but not Parkers) of getting third place. Still I while I know he is not stupid,I also know you (not you) can be too clever.

He gets a D for being too clever.

you are so far out of line. the day after the cl final while we were all indulging ourselves in a sea of self-pity levy was booking a flight to amsterdam to get us in a better place for next year. cool heads and calculating minds are exactly what we need. he had more reason than any to feel frustrated after all of his work. shirt sponsorship up for renewal and the little matter of naming rights for a stadium, the cl final and ‘arry’s completely useless leadership for ten games has cost us much much more than the 30mill people speak of re cl money. he has worked mightily hard and now needs to work even harder after this monumental setback that he has absolutely nothing to do with; yet he did not indulge in whining and went straight back to work. i feel we are fortunate, altho i would agree he could sometimes cut losses sooner and get rid of the bentleys and jeans of the world, altho what would we have given for a fit jeans in the run in? bottom line is that is that with a deep recession on the way there will be a number of clubs that disappear from sight in the next several years and the one chairman i trust not to have that happen is levy.. scholar almost put us into bankruptcy and we were save only buy the sale of gascoigne but so weak we could not get on the premiership train properly and lost years, sugar? please, a mindless thug
