I think this could be the most important signing of the decade for us. Replacing King with a quality defender who can play 45 games a season is priority imo. Start keeping more clean sheets and up the table we shoot, no question. Add to this the fact that it shows true ambition, it may help persuade certain players to remain at Spurs. Considering the money Manure paid for Ferdinand, and how long ago that was, this guys an absolute bargain. If we sold him in three/four years time, we double our money at the very least. I’ll be absolutely gutted if this falls through, cos you wont get this sort of opportunity crop up again, and the guy actually wants to come here, what more could you possibly ask for??!
On a separate note, my feeling is Modders is off, and I’m hoping it’s to Real. I can’t see the incentive to stay, no CL, and if we make it next year we’ll have little chance of winning it. He’s also approaching the age where he’s after that one final big money move. Spend the money wisely and I can see it working for both parties…

FFS Levy sort this out and pay the money!! I have actually seen Vertonghen play several times at the ArenA and he is one class act, immense at the back, intelligent with his passing and gets forward to add to the attack at the right times. He is just what we need. If we fuck this up I am seriously gonna end my membership. He is that good, sort it NOW
