A Little Light Whoring

Good morning.

Shakattack Don’task play Chelsea tomorrow night and another Spurs summer target that didn’t happen Willian has said:

‘Tottenham is a big club and it has a good person in charge. Andre Villas-Boas wanted to bring me to Chelsea and also tried at Tottenham. He always sends me messages. We are always in touch, and he has become a friend, for sure.’

Which sounds quite positive until you read on…

Choosing between the two clubs would be difficult. I don’t know. Chelsea is Chelsea. They are a great team, with amazing players and are the champions of Europe.

‘I would love to play for either of those clubs. But my mind remains at Shakhtar, and I’ll do my best to get the win against Chelsea. Everybody knows what my goal is. I’ve clearly stated that I would like to play in a bigger stage, whether it be England, Spain or Italy. I want to come back to the national team, and being in a bigger spotlight would help me get noticed.’

Nothing to get upset about, rather an honest reflection of the man simply wanting to advance in life.

Elsewhere some stroke surviving Intern at ESPN has decided to play fast and loose with a Hugo Lloris interview with Stade 2

“It’s not my motivation to be on the bench, I do not worry but I feel powerless, I want to play and I think I was brought to Tottenham for this purpose. I’m ambitious and I want to be on the pitch. I have respect for all the people in the club, but things are clear, I’m not here to live this situation any longer. I think selection for France and Tottenham are two singularly different things,” he said. “I did not need this match against Spain for my status as No. 1.”

I don’t speak French which is almost academic as the video isn’t working. But this is translation by a media outlet looking for a story.

Hugo isn’t going to say, ‘Oh je t’aime being on the bench c”est triffique.’ is he? So he when he says he didn’t expect to be rotated it  is quite a normal response. To say that he doesn’t pick the team is also quite a normal response. I wish I had more cheer to bring you.

Tomorrow I’ve an ‘interesting’ Maribor special and a cracking shiny new HHH is in production.

Lloris is one of the best g/k’s in the World. If we signed Messi/Ronaldo, would you expect Defoe to keep his place!?

I agreed not changing keepers instantly, but I think Lloris has had to bide his time for long enough now.

I got the video to work – maybe because I am in France – and I do speak French. ESPN has a good translation of the first part of the conversation. But, the rest of it is interesting. They show Lloris a video of the second goals – Mata’s first – and ask Lloris, wouldn’t you have come out for that? And he said, quite mildly, that different keepers have different styles and that who knows whether he could have stopped it. Then finally they ask him directly, doesn’t all of this bother you? And Lloris says, with excellent Gallic dismissal, no, he’s fine at Tottoenham. “Je suis tranquil” he said, which means, I’m chill, it’s cool, there are no problems.

Snooooze. Everyone in the little town where I live in France is completely up in arms about the situation. It is unbelievable…Levy must have forced Hugo on AVB, and this is how he fights back. The French press is FREAKING OUT. But not Hugo. Not yet.

      Appreciate that :daumen:

      Thanks SpursGator.

I’m freaking out too. And I also think the stupid AVB is trying to fight Levy for concentrating on Hugo and losing out on his Moutinho.

We don’t need this lunacy. It would be ok if Friedel was an above average keeper but he is not. He is a previously-average 41year old **** and I believe Gomes would have conceded less goals this season.

This rubbish is really annoying me.

If there is any mishandling on AVB’s part I don’t think it is a fight with Levy, more maybe an increasingly ham-fisted attempt to appear even-handed and loyal and respectful of the squad after falling out with the c-units at Chelsea. The same thing appears to be happening with Defoe and Adebayor. Defoe is ‘in form’ so he is keeping his place. At least Ballsack-face realized that Defoe was a player of ‘limited dimension’ and thus used the more versatile Adebayor as the lone striker.

Both these situations need to be killed dead by AVB come Sunday kick-off or else they will back-fire on him badly.

  • Ronnie says:

Friedel never makes mistakes because he never takes any risks. As evidenced by Mata’s first goal, he is happy to concede a goal as far as “it is not his fault”. Even Gomes would have anticipated and come out of his line when Mata got the ball for his second. Torres also had a similar chance with the old man remaining static on the line. Somehow, it is never Friedel’s fault. But the goals against column keeps adding up.

In the meanwhile, the 25yr old French No.1 goalie is getting impatient and wondering whether he made a mistake joining us (all the French papers are telling him so). Other players in Europe are also watching the circus and instructing there agents to keep off the confused Spurs. Only Gooners are happy and laughing.

Friedel is going through a mid-life crisis and wants to prove to himself he is better than the 25yr old France No. 1. He has never ever been good enough to keep off Hugo Lloris.

Maybe AVB is the idiot ‘The SUN’ makes him out to be and we are just in denial.

    Here comes the big one.
    NK Maribor vs Spurs.
Just two days away now and I am counting the minutes already.

So glad that we got AVB who prioritises the europa league over these pointless league games.
We are not going to win the title so fuck it. Who cares if Chelsea beat us. AVB just looks at the winnable games and trys to win silverware.

That is something Harry never understood. We don’t want to take on the big boys for the top 4 or the title or play Madrid and Inter at WHL.

We just want a pot of any quality and AVB is the man to do that. If he cannot win the europa maybe we can get the Peace Cup reinstated for the summer tour. Any trophy is better than what happened under Redknapp.

  • Spursmartio says:

Whatever. Lloris should have been in the cheatski game. How many goals have we let in with friedel between the sticks? He’s been bedded in, it’s time for the change NOW.
