Your Man Of The Match – Versus Everton

Mine was undoubtedly Kaboul.

There were lots of positives (you never hear this phrase after a win – funny that) from lots of players. But Kaboul was for want of a better word, staunch. He arrived at The Lane with a burden of expectation upon his Gallic shoulders and the old girl never quite bore the weight.

Jarred off then wholesaled off to Pompey he appeared to, in very technical parlance, get a bit better. His return was heralded with the same disinterest as his departure. Part of some debt consolation deal or a kick back on some Premiership Club Card reward program, I forget.

But he looks to be genuinely on the level now. And in a aside that has habitual ‘back four issues’, that’s a welcome addition.

Of course the biggest miss on Saturday was big Tom.

Though he’s well appreciated on here it’s easy to underestimate his contribution to a game. He is fast becoming an irreplaceable component of Spurs at their best.

He is not exactly world class, knocking on the doors of other ‘big clubs’?
Dont get me wrong i am a massive fan, but if he gets injured (touch wood) surely he is replaceable?

Well, what he offers is the way he distributes the ball. Along with his vision, he is able to nail a pass to the feet of another player from any where in the field. I dont know of another player in our team who ahs shown that can do that…

yep; much of our good work comes via Thudd. I am his biggest fan but even taking that into account surely no-one on here believes we are better without him?

And before I get grief; I still believe he could work harder and wish he was faster/more mobile but the fact is he is our playmaker and apart from Fabricgash (and probably wilshire in years to come) no PL team has the “perfect midfielder”

Unless we’re relying on Huddlestone to score in every game instead of the strikers, of course, the biggest miss on Saturday was a striker.

Read some daft stories re Bale part exchange for Carrick, so hope we get some sort of result at traff. When was bales contract last improved? We should just come out with say a 60 mil valuation for the guy, then watch fergie (aka Mr tappy tappy) fcuk right off…

No we should tell old red nose, that he can have Bale, if he can take his under pants off, without removing his trousers……and 60m. :freu

ManUre’s midfield is looking very average these days and ours is looking the best I’ve seen it for a while.

Redknapp needs to ditch the lob it in the box approach asap. With our current lack of pace and gumption up top, it’s not that easy, but we need to deploy a better way to play and quickly.

We seem to pass it around nicely in the middle, then, eventually play it out to the wing looking for a cross into Crouch and by this time, the opposition have their whole defence and most of its midfield in position with their backs to goal. It’s easily defended for the most part and far too predictable.

Ferdinand and Vidic will make child’s play of Crouch if we play that way and will clean up on the counter.

We need to be more direct and faster in our general approach but without hoofing it to Crouch. There needs to be more coached patterns of play rather than relying too heavily on individual ad hoc talent followed by the capricious nature of the beanpole’s bonce.

    Sort it out Redknapp.

    Well said there TMWNA.
We seem to wait patiently every game for that one moment of brilliance that gets us a goal.

I must say the year we had berba and keane playing together, that was a bumper goal season.
Didnt we top the goal scoring charts?

Maybe we got a taste of that, and now its simply gone.
