Some Credible Thoughts On Another Fine Mess

So Manchester United grind out three points. We’re incapable of grinding coffee beans.

West Brom? Sorry to be awfully disrespectful, but this is the side that thought they’d won the lottery when landing Uncle Woy as their supremo.

Believe it or not I stand by Redschnapps. Those amongst you who revel in stats can investigate but he’s worked miracles. He has his limitations but who amongst us doesn’t? As I recall Stephen Fry’s ‘flawed genius’ speech on Cooky. My beef is with the players.

I don’t see much merit in ripping into anyone specifically. But the Tottenham Malaise is still there, still blighting any chances of genuinely advancing as a team, as a club. Gomes is apparently a clown and some wouldn’t send him for a paper.

Gomes is a decent goalkeeper. But I tell you this; you put Van der Sar in a Spurs shirt and watch him haemorrhage goals. There isn’t a keeper in the world that performs well in front of a conveyor belt of defenders. There isn’t a keeper in the world who’s confidence and self belief are impervious to foul ups. It’s a vicious circle and the sooner King & Woodgate are suitably replaced the better.

Our midfield has some absolute quality in it’s number. But Modders is a gem, Rafa a gift, but Bale needs to adapt his game. He’s become a household name and ought not be surprised that people are developing a strategy to nullify him.

Sandro must be encouraged to stamp his mark on proceedings. We’ve been whining on for a dog’s age about a ‘Roy Keane’ type. Pssst wanna know a secret? We’ve got one and his name is Sandro.

Up front I’m swimming against the tide with many of you perhaps. I wouldn’t flog Defoe and 3MP, I’d pop them into one of those charity bags that come through the door and leave them on the curb outside The Lane. Harsh? Neither have scored remotely enough goals. Forget Pete’s one that got us in the Champions League, he took that back when he demanded a red card against Real.

Drawing indoors to West Brom simply isn’t on. If Chelsea don’t wallop West Ham there will be tears before bedtime in the Hotspur caravanette tonight.

Here’s some clips:

  • The goal was coming all afternoon we have no balance when VDV is on the right! Huddlestone was not at the races again & Sandro won most of his tackles!!! Until we look to hit teams from both sides with the pace of Lennon & Bale we will continually fall short also some strikers who can score & perform consistently would be nice!!!!!! Oh well only Cheatski next week! C.O.Y.S

I am still a fan of Arry but he got it badly wrong today.

Defoe scored a great goal but he was otherwise hopeless and almost invisible in the first half. Pav was slightly better in that he works and has decent movement but he is not the answer.

So we started with two below par strikers (and yes they both scored) which forced our top scorer to play wide (not that he stuck to the script much). This left Kaboul on his own in attack and defence so at times we were exposed on the right flank whilst defending then short of bodies when attacking.

On the other wing Benny got injured early but instead of bringing on Lennon to replace Bale (who went to left back) he brings on Sandro forcing our fabulous central midfielder Modders who many other clubs covet to play wide left which dragged Rafa even further left in search of his mate. Yet again we play with four across the middle to accommodate Defoe when we nearly always play better with five in midfield..

Somehow we managed to go 2-1 up but scupperred that with some mindless defending.

As El Tel said to me we’re gonna finish sixth. He may well be right.

Am I the only one sick and tired of Arry’s happy go lucky attitude to these sub-standard results against relegation scrappers – surely we’ve had enough of them for it to get his goat up as much as it does mine? What was with that effing team he had on the pitch when we were in the lead second half? Sandro was the only player in the front 6 with a defensive bone in his body… we didn’t look for a second like holding that lead and were as it was lucky to be ahead if I’m honest. And I’m not even talking about Bale at LB and Kaboul on the right. He likes to sit and say how we have no right to expect Champions league over City and there billions, but for *#@k sakes, can we just pitch up and play against the less glamorous teams for a change! COYS!

we’re still right in it. triffic. it was always going to be hard this year cause of the money city spent. one of those days. it’ll be difficult, but on our day we’re a match for anyone. tottenham fans have nothing to complain about. it was a triffic goal wot undid us. triffic.

      • eastanglianspur says:

Rubbish, what undid us was f*****g about after going ahead playing keep-ball without attacking. In other words trying to defend a one goal advantage – a recipe for disaster when we have no rock solid defence.

Lol. Once a used car salesman, always a used car salesman. Completely failed to instill any killer instinct into the team.

Time to be rid of Redknapp, he’s had his day. He can take tweedle dum and tweedle Defoe with him. I am sick of his after match BS excuses.
