If wishes were horses, beggars would ride. If turnips were swords, I’d wear one by my side. If ifs and ands were pots and pans, there’d be no need for tinkers’ hands.

Anyone looking for something more sophisticated to kick than next door’s cat only has to dwell upon all the points dropped thrown hurled over arm bowled away in games against clubs who now litter the lower half of the table.

Now we can move on (some of us by the scruff of the neck) from the rosary bead clutching that dogged yesterday’s blog perhaps it’s time to assess the plan moving forward. And I’m not talking about the next few games. For information on the loss of 4th place kindly read the paragraph above this one.

The criminal yesterday outside of that lobotomised fecktard with the flag was undoubtedly Arry. He went for a draw. Look at the way he lined ’em up. Look at the way he sent ’em out. Look at the way he moved ’em about.

And what was the look of thunder about when Sandro scored? Was that the right time for a poker face? Arry tactically outwitted again. Is this old dog capable of learning new tricks?

Anyhoo, here are some player ratings…

champions league spot is now beyond us.
liverpool have to fancy overtaking us.
I cant see us playing any european football next season.

harry has taken us as far as he can and with the wage structure and current location – so has levy

all we can hope for us dead wood out close season and we keep our best players.

cant see it happening im afraid and next season will be another rebuilding exercise with five clubs accelerating away from us.

    bugger

      still 2 from 8 eh?

      • Razspur says:

Forget 2 from 8, with our current squad 1 from 11 sounds much worse but you won`t hear Harry quoting that one. Next up Blackpool and they are desperate for points (pred 1-1), then City with a point to prove (2-0), then Liverpool to really rub it in (3-0), finally Birmingham who will need points on the last day (2-2), so it could well be 1 from 15 what an end of season and i am genuinely not a gooner, just a realist.

    Quote………”No, I`m not a wheeler and dealer. F**k off. I`m not a wheeler and F*****g dealer. Don`t even say that. I`m a F*****g football manager.”

Show me one club that has been left in a healthier position as a result of Mr Henry James Redknapps tenure from :
Bournmouth, West Ham, Portsmouth, Southampton, Portsmouth again, and if we wait too long will we become the next victim.

His contract is until 2013, is Levy waiting in the hope of compensation from the FA if Harry gets the England job, even though that`s dependant on court proceedings. 22nd of May Daniel, Sieze the day.

I seem to remember him leaving West Ham in a pretty decent position but your argument is pointless as he has no control over the finances and Daniel Levy has demonstrated he is no mug when it comes to looking after the doh ray mi.

I have no idea how much he contributed to Pompey’s plight but as he says they had a successful cup run, which brings in dosh and sold a whole rack of players for far more than he paid for them. So what happened to all that?

      • jfdit says:

I remember him spending the rio ferdinand money like a fucktard on crack. The players he brought in were not great.

‘arrys timing when leaving clubs is impeccable, he always gets out before the shit hits the fan.

With his court case and his desire to do the england gig, next season is already looking like being disrupted and disjointed.

I’d be tempted to say thanks a lot and get someone in who’s in it for the long term.

I think Arry got his tactics and the starting line up very close to right.

They had more of the play and created more chances than us but the fact is that neither of their goals were legal. Had the officials got it right we may have won this and who’d be slagging Arry then ?

I think Arry’s one mistake was playing Charlie on the left. He’s a limited player who makes the most of himself and teams up well with Azza and you can see Arry’s thinking. The reality was that Kaboul showed all his weaknesses and few of his strengths while Charlie was not as comfortable overlapping and supporting young Gareth. The result was that neither Azza or Gareth got the support they are used to and we did little down the flanks.

Nevertheless, with all their possession Chelsea created few decent chances and all in all we were unlucky not to get a result.

    • jfdit says:

We did ok for 70 mins tactically but when ancelotti changed their midfield around they started to dominate, arry’s tactical adjustments after that were shite but what other options bar the LSOP did we have?

we need to clear our decks of the dross/crocks holding our team back, Jenas, Pienaar, Bentley, Dos Santos, Hutton, Bassong, King, Woodgate, O’Hara & Cudincini to start.

I can’t think of any useful input from any of those players this season bar a couple of goals from hutton. I wouldn’t like to be paying those players an average of 50-60 k a week. Probably in excess of £20 million a year in wages on those players alone.

If we’re going to tweak the 1st team, gomes, pav, defoe and crouch should be moved on if better replacements can be found.

    • Harry Hotspur says:

You have to question the tactics. Bale & Lennon were clearly told to hold back – Sandro appeared to be getting scolded for not scoring perhaps but previously breaking formation.

And Pav as the lone wolf was inspired :silly:
