Levy & Co. Leave Arry Out Of The Loop

Good morning fight fans.

Fascinating development in the Jan Vertonghen mini saga as the player has let slip that it’s Spurs that are closest to landing him.

What’s fascinating is that it’s now clear that Arry is not involved in the deal. Only a day or two ago our tight lipped supremo said,

“He is a good player, a player I have looked at and watched, I think there are a lot of clubs interested in him though. So, that is all.

“We haven’t gone anywhere with it. We haven’t spoken to the club. He is just a player I have watched, along with a lot of other players.”

But now Jan himself has said,

“Of course I want Ajax to become financially better, but the amount Tottenham are willing to pay, maybe with a little bit extra, is very reasonable.

“In a year from now I could leave the club for free. I hope Ajax are aware of it as the situation of Maarten Stekelenburg’s transfer was very harsh.

He only arrived at the end of pre-season at AS Roma. I want to flow in fluently, directly with the other Spurs players.

“Tottenham is a fantastic traditional club who play football in a way I like. Ajax was the perfect club for me, but Spurs will be very close in nearing that already. They buy young, eager and offensive-minded players.”

I’ve been banging the ‘buy a centre back drum’ for some time. This guy would be absolutely perfect and we need to cough up and sign him. Signing Vertonghen would demonstrate to the likes of Modric that we meant business.

Let’s hope Levy & Co. can pull it off!

Erm, think you’ll find this is the way Harry usually does business (successfully). Can’t believe you would expect him to confirm they were in advanced talks. Did you know, btw, that gullible is the only word not in the dictionary?

Sorry,. Is this deal really going ahead?? Are all these uotes genuine???? – Do we have a top quality left sided CB to help Younes KABOOM take us forward??!!!! –

I have wet myself and I don’t care who knows it.

Throatkill can also play lb and dm and would be a fantastic signing. My fear is that he wanna play with his cousin at Ars and could be saying stuff to wind us up and get in with the oppo. Hope I’m wrong. It’s all very much up in the air at the mo due to not much being confirmed yet despite 37 games played. What a season. Verghtcoughtens’ decision will be swayed by who finishes where. COYFS.

‘Vertonghen mini saga’ it certainly is. VDV could well have been on the dog to his Ajax connections for this one……if indeed there is any legs to this. I cannot remember if Levy ‘alone’ snapped up VDV….any feedback welcome.

If Levy lands the Erdedivisie Player of the Year then the you can say goodbye to the King.

He phoned up arry in the last hour of the transfer window and said I’ve got a present for you if you want him.

    • Frontwheel 2 says:

If arry signed Sandro,he should get some credit.

      • LosLorenzo says:

If memory serves he went to great pains at the time to underline the fact that he knew nothing about the player and that he was being signed solely based on scouting references. In essence “if he’s pants it’s not my fault”. So, no. I don’t think he deserves much credit for that one. Parker, on the other hand…

  • Borris says:

Surely King will still be around in some capacity?
    – I would like to see an ad-hoc pay as you play/senior voice type role.

I dont know if this sort thing is feasible these days with the new limits to squad numbers and our problems with this already, jenas bentley gio blah blah blah,.. Still, it as put a smile on my face. Lets sort out some right side cover, and, at least 1 striker in for Saha /7 (IMO) Ade due to wages/return for said.

Is poor old Defoe gonna push to leave?? – Signed by that idiot and cut out by him?! – Sorry to bring it back to HR but what is he on tactically.

  • SimYid says:

Anyone else pick up on Ade’s quote in the mirror when talking about Scotty and Sandro?

“Hopefully, we can keep going. And if all the lads are like that next year we can start thinking of winning the league and being in a better position.”

Is Ade staying at the lane then??

    • TMWNN says:

Sign him up + one other.

    • LosLorenzo says:

Get the impression that he wants to, certainly. I think, too, that he probably realizes he won’t match his ManC wages anywhere else, and a paycut is on the cards in any case. Just have to hope Levy can make it happen. No question, he’s one to hang onto if at all possible.

      • SimYid says:

Hope he stays. His hold up play and his pace for a big man is quality. Although PSG have been rumoured to be interested. Jan, Ade, Hazard and Leandro Would be nice ha ha

      • Spurstacus says:

What happened to the training ground bust up reports the other day?
