Good morning.
Harry Kane scored nine goals for Milwall last year.
Good news – I think – is that Timothy Sherwood has told NewsAtDen.com that Kane is in André Villas-Boas’ plans.
“We don’t think there’s any value in loaning Harry out to the Championship again. He’s ticked that box.
“He may need a few more games if he’s not in the frame at Tottenham, but he’s going to be given every opportunity to prove himself to the new manager. If the manager decides he’s not ready, that would be the only time we would consider loaning him out.
“But as we stand, we’re not looking to loan him.”
“I know Kenny Jackett because we played together at Watford, so there’s a connection there. Millwall is a good move for our young boys because it gives them experience and it’s local.
“Sometimes it works out, as with Kane, but sometimes it doesn’t, as with Mason.
“I will sit down with the new manager and talk in more depth about his philosophy on loaning younger players.
“We don’t really learn anything from sending players to the Championship for a second time.”
Then I take it our strikers for the new season will be Defoe, VDV, Kane and ?? I’m not too excited by this, we need an awesome striker to sign now
On this occasion the people pointing out the date of this article do have a point don’t they ?.
Since the quotes were made Kane HAS been given the chance to impress AVB by playing 90 mins in pre season friendlies.
Personally i’d play him in the Uefa Cup ‘easy’ fixtures but i wouldn’t have him on the bench for a PL match.
So the point was to discuss the progress. Jesus, I really did forget that it’s the school holidays…
Did I say this quote was from yesterday? Did I try a conceal the source or the date of the interview???
Churning it out in the tone you have suggests this is ‘news’. It isn’t.
PERHAPS it was meant to generate debate, but its newsnow hit whore title, tone and content say otherwise.
This is a hit whore site, always has been. Struggling to see what point you’re making.
The point, young man, is that you posted this up without alluding to the fact it was very old (and not that interesting, but that’s by the by) news, and passed it off as something you’d recently unearthed. The fact that you didn’t say ‘this is an exclusive snippet i’ve got hold of’ doesn’t matter. You passed it off as ‘news’, then tried to back track by saying it was an attempt to stimulate debate about our youth promotion policy.
Yeah, alright chief. Whatever you say.
But by all means, focus on the throwaway line I used about newsnow…
You simply cannot do it, can you?
The fact is that the article I linked to is time stamped! How is that passing off?!

And that is all I said.
If you are too thick to see the whole point was to prompt discussion since we have now seen him play a few games since this was said (a few weeks ago, not 8 years ago, by the by) then I cannot help you.
And …if you don’t find it vaguely interesting given the lack of announcements about striker signings, equally I cannot help you.
Maybe I should have factored in thick people and said, ‘Do you think Tim is still right about this?’ In which case, go and click on Vital.
I Think of this site for what it is, a place to discuss old & new topics about Spurs, with a tremendous amount of silliness mixed in and just a sprinkling of occasional genius. In my crazy head i call it Harry’s Haberdashery :shocked2:
We are fooked if Kane is our striker
I’m all for keeping him at the club this season but as 4th striker, we really need to get someone in asap.
I’m all for including him in the squad, as long as we’re not relying on him to be first choice. He obviously needs some game time to prove himself.
Ideally, he’d replace Defoe as our third choice striker so we could off load Defoe whilst people still think he’s good, but due to yet another window of negligence and rank amateurism, it appears that Defoe will not only still be here next season, but there’s every chance he could start the season as our no.1 striker.
Gulp!
