Faith: A Condemned Prisoner Requesting A Doggy Bag During His Last Meal

Good afternoon.

I’m struggling to get my head around where the boss is heading with this whole Adebayor business. Now clearly I write this from the perspective of someone who believes Adebayor to be a superior player to Defoe.

…at the moment we’re using one striker and Defoe is doing extremely well. At the moment, Adebayor is in contention for games where we play two strikers. He’s done extremely well in the games that he has come on but we have not found comfort in a formation with two strikers yet.

Villas-Boas oversaw this transfer. It was so – on – then off – then back on again – that it would be ambitious to suggest he didn’t have the opportunity to halt it. Also, there is this whole extraordinarily in depth scouting business. It’s really difficult to argue that once Ade eventually showed up for training that smiles suddenly turned into frowns. AVB must have known what he was buying.

Adebayor is not only a superior player of unquestionable human dimensions but he’s also not cheap. This isn’t like having Livermore sometimes getting a game, sometimes not. At least we now now that it isn’t a hamstring, it’s a tactical choice – but why Ade doesn’t fit the system is something I’m struggling to see.

I’ve great faith in the boss. But this does leave me really puzzled.

T o be quite honest AVB has two whinge queens competing for the same spot although one is paid 2x what the other one is.
IMHO if you fork out for someone with a track record of pouting and throwing tantrums when not happy, you are virtually chucking money down the drain if you do not play him.
Any opposition with tall effective CDs will need Ade so let’s use him before he starts to whinge and if AVB cannot make up his mind then FFS!! Then alternate them.

If Gallas plays and has another stinker there will be water in the bilge of my AVB boat. Even Dawson at his worst was not that bad. Kaboul ..please become fit !! All is forgiven.

Ade for me is learning who is the boss. Lloris also.
Soon they will be shining stars of this team.
    Lloris captain by Xmas.

Defoe is playing well, what is the big deal. Ade will be off to the ACN or whatever it is called in January, lets hope another striker is signed. I hear Heskey is playing well Down Under :-p

The eyeballer firmly believes you cannot drop Defoe – he is doing very well up top and he is not a one trick pony – his job is to score goals and he is doing that – yes ade is also a great player but he too has to step it up – he missed a sitter against Chelsea to level at 3-3…
The eyeballer would like to see a Defoe / ade partnership develop – why couldn’t a midfield of bale Sandro dembele and Lennon not start with ade and Defoe up top?
We need goals goals goals and I don’t see siggy nor Dempsey providing them

good shout, with Siggy and Deuce not showing up yet, having Ade and JD together might work, Ade love to drop deap and go out wide too, so could be excellent in that role.

  • AllWhiteMark says:

Simples: JD is currently a better finisher. Goals win matches. Ade is wasteful in front of goal. We dont need another assister – we’ve enough already. Viva Defoe.
