Tottingham coach and part time Range Rover driver told Radio Talksport:

“If we want to win the Premier League and compete in the Champions League, we’ve got to go after the best players.

“And if Wayne Rooney became available it would be interesting to see if we could go for him.

“For years Spurs have been known as a selling club but if you look at our squad we’ve arguably got the the best squad in the Premier League.

“Harry wants to add one or two quality players to that and, if he can do that, we’ll have a serious chance of challenging for the Premier League.

Well done Finn – I won’t take the piss like some others.

I say buy Rooney but find a special way of doing it. Maybe personal sponsorship, such as Puma (although I think they’re off), Adidas or whoever. Creativity in shirt sponsorship and creativity in the purchase of a special player (not him, but in general).

    The Rooneyham theory:
The player wants out. OK Man u should accept that.
    This is the deal:
They should A: Either stick him on the transfer list for January and get what they can for him.
Letting the clock tick away, brings his value down and clubs will jsut wait for him to be free. Its worth the wait.
Or B: Convince him to at least sign a one or two year extension, but categorically agree to sell him at the right offer. At least then they will get somethign from it to buy a replacement. If Rooney says he is indebted to the club and Alex then that is a way of repaying that faith and support.
If he goes on a free, its like they rented him for 30mil Plus his wages on top for just a few years.

Would Rooney come to Spurs? would you swap Bale for Rooney? Is that something that tickles your fancy?
