That’s right. Son of John White, Rob White has along with co-author Julie Welch signed a copy of The Ghost Of White Hart Lane. This is a really lovely book. There’s something about boys and their fathers when it comes to football. My first memories of Spurs were Saturday teatimes in the 1970’s. Dad took charge of the kitchen on Saturday nights and this invariably meant chips which for some reason he cut into ‘coins’ rather than well… chip shaped chips. My job was to bring him in the scores for Tottenham (his London side) and Hibs (his Scottish side).…

Soon be time for lunch. I’ve been making a ragu all morning that is causing passing Italians who catch a whiff to weep uncontrollably in the street. Elsewhere, word just in that we’ve placed a bid for a young man by the name of Serdar Tasci. It was only last month that the 24 year old Stuttgart defender was ‘in talks’ with our friends at The Emptycrates, but alas no deal was done. Will this happen? I’m told it’s very likely. Good morning lynch mob members, I trust we’ve someone one with strong rope and another with at least directions to a stout tall tree. Although it needn’t be to tall… Via the highly esteemed COYS and sourced as being Tweeted by one Irish journo, Ken Early we have some interesting depressing ‘quotes’ from two of our brave boys after the Republic Of Debt played The Croatianists. Here’s the audio: http://audioboo.fm/boos/436439-modric-ireland-mixed-zone-august-9 IRL mixed zone reporter: “Can you stay sharp if you don’t get game time for Spurs?” Robbie Keane: “How’d you know I won’t?” *awkward silence* Modric on Chelsea move: “Idon’t want…
This is very good and comes courtesy of the very talented Gunnerblog. As Homer Simpson said, it’s funny because it’s true. Grab an Ovaltine, hit play and watch your cares waltz away…
Good Afternoon, That Dave Cameron’s a card isn’t he… am I alone in wondering if he could safeguard a Tuck Shop? But first prize at Clown School today has to go to Stan Collymore who genuinely believes that now is the time for cultural icons such as footballers and rappers to step forward and offer to help out ‘the kids’. Stan, it is one of the reasons that these uneducated subculture scumbags are in this vacum of theft, bullying, violence and misery …they can’t see much beyond the plastic ‘glamour’ of footballers and rappers. Branches of Waterstones,…
Good morning, An excellent statement from the Chairman this morning in relation to the criminal blitzing of N17 by opportunist scum yesterday. The full message is on the official site of course but the jist is that practical measures need to be engaged to organise a physical clean up of the area and the regeneration plans are core to the well being of not only businesses but private citizens who live locally. On yesterday’s blog we trod a tricky path where with I think one exception I didn’t censor the views of those that felt that this wasn’t a multicultural…
And good afternoon. Word coming in is that Sgt Wilson has agreed personal terms with Stoke City. This is a sad day of sorts. When the old Sarge arrived he was precisely what we were looking for. A bulldog in the midfield. Just what the doctor ordered. Tragic personal issues got on top of him and he was never really the same player again. Pulis is assembling an army at Stoke. What a pity we aren’t. BIOYC!
Good morning, Yesterday was a mixed bag then. The atmosphere inside The Lane was a marketing man’s dream. Smiling families, Mexican waves, fans cheering players and singing songs, and Spurs a’ winning. That’s what I like. Sometime after the atmosphere outside The Lane resembled a bad night night in Belfast. So what happened? What happened to the vehicles that were torched, shops that were looted, the windows that were smashed, the houses destroyed is pretty well documented. I’ve included a short gallery from images I picked up from Twitter. But what happened to precipitate this? There are actually three paths…
Evenin’ all. The game wot many of us watched turned upon the substitutions at half time. Here then are my thoughts wot I had whilst enduring this televisual feast. Mind how you go. Gomes 6 Looks decidedly less gormless sans gum shield. It’s all about perception. Charlie 4 Those Lighter Life diet plan thingymajiggs actually work then. Triffic. Dawson 5 I blame Bassong for his jitters. Bassong 3 A jitter generator. A&E 9 Top Charlie Banana Dalai Lama. J**** 0 Looks the part, talks the part. Not so good with a football. Peanut 0 Scientists have made a footballer out…
